Buddy was 22 years old. Ritchie Valens was still in high school. 17 years old. He was a year younger than my father who just turned 83.
The pilot was Roger Peterson, himself only 21 years old also perished in the crash.
You know, the actors they picked for the movie matched up pretty well.
