My PC is some thousands of times faster or bigger in just about every aspect (RAM, CPU, GPU, networking, buses, etc.) than the first machine I ever used, just in the space of 3-and-a-bit decades. And hundreds of thousands or even millions of times that of the machines he was able to create/invent/design/use.
AI is still woefully stuck in a 60’s-era “just throw more Hz at it and eventually it’ll magically become sentient” dead-end that thus far has never proven true for even a second.
