The concept seems a bit off. This might have been believable 20 years ago, but now we all know more about the state of robotics and AI, what is required to build a functioning robot. It’s not just engineering skills, being able to construct the hardware. It’s also the AI. So Brian is a genius level programmer and AI scientist, is he? Being able to do alone what the AI and Computer Science community hasn’t been able to do yet? Yeah I love Brian and After Life, but I just know enough about that subject matter that I’m not buying it. I mean, I could pick out a smaller thing from this, like.. spatial awareness. That alone would be enough to overwhelm Brian for the rest of his life. This is just not feasible.
Is this a spinoff film of After Life? Or is he just playing essentially the same character?
This looks like a terribly joyful movie that will end in sadness and despair.
