Born in Chicago, but raised in Edo State, Nigeria. My brother and i weren’t shy to let people know that we were super cool Americans. Early 1990’s.

Super adorable
Merica! Way to represent
This is an awesome pic.
Big caps on little boys will always be super cute
How did you get there? Sounds nice, was it?
My man on the left holding some internal toilet tank plumbing like it’s a desert eagle. I feel that. I remember my full-oak AK.
Did you have family there or were you there for a parent’s job? There is something in the attitude of the sideways turned hats that reminds me of visiting my cousins that lived in the sticks when I was growing up. I lived in the city and I always fancied myself more sophisticated than them so I rocked out my 80s fashion with attitude when I was around them. I don’t think I was much older than this.
Where are you now?
2 Adorable 2 Stop
+1 for the Datsun sedan

This is an excellent photo!
Looking OSC for sure. How did you like growing up there?
What was life like living in Nigeria? I dated a girl that was from Liberia and went to school in Ghana and she told me stories and said it was rough living.
Too freaking cute.

Most adorable cool cats out there
Chicago Love
A dear friend of mine just got back from Nigeria, visiting his mother and siblings for Christmas. He is a US military physician deployed in my country for a number of years.. Just yesterday evening, he was telling me some amazing stories of his native country. From what I heard Nigeria sounds like a very nice place 🙂
So cute/cool! That t-shirt with the drawn kid’s face is so familiar somehow. Do you recall if that was a particular brand?

Fellow American from Edo state here! Rare to find someone that isn’t Igbo or Yoruba. Great pic!
Holy crap I had that shirt!! It says Americans do it better! But also in the tag it says “made in Russia” when I asked my uncle that gifted it to me he said it was probably a joke shirt.
Woww, both my parents are from edo state, was born in lagos and ended up in Germany! Love how nigerians move
I have a quilt with squares with that picture on it. 🙂
(The picture on the tshirt, not the picture if the children. That would be weird.)

Tafeltennis, that car was imported from Belgium or Netherlands.
Y’all never fall to be weird as hell on a post that features anyone Black.
I’m always glad to have proud Americans. Thank you.
This was me when my family moved from Chicago to rural Virginia, in the mid 90s. I always wore my Bulls gear and would play up how much different life was between a major city and the rural south. It really felt like being a foreign exchange student at times.
