Love this film
Fun fact; in 92/93 if there were 4 or 5 teenage boys in one area at the same time they were required to re-enact this scene.
There are a lot of great songs that were written in all of the human history, especially in the second part of the 20th century, but not a lot of them can even compare to Bohemian Rhapsody.
If you believe Brian May, Freddie Mercury saw this scene before he died. https://www.spin.com/2020/12/brian-may-says-freddie-mercury-loved-waynes-world-bohemian-rhapsody-scene/
Me and my buddies in 1979, exactly like this. Really.
And to think: some music exec thought that teenagers couldn’t crank up the volume in their car and bang their heads to this song.
I feel safe in claiming this is the greatest use of a song in a movie of all time. This entire opening tells you everything you need to know about this movie and what the characters care about. Mike Meyers called in No Money Fun.
Filmed (mostly*) on Citrus Ave., downtown Covina, CA
The storefront with the green neon, next to Powell’s Camera Shop, was Hot Rocks Records, one of the coolest record stores in the valley.
