Outstanding pacing, blocking, callback jokes, damn this was a golden era of television. Used to watch this next to Dick van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore on Nick at Night. Definately sets a standard for comedy writing.
Was the fourth man to join the party the same actor who played the smoking man in the xfiles?
Hilarious.
Every Chinese place near me is closed on Thanksgiving š
More goo!
To this day, I struggle ordering Moo Goo Gai Pan.
Those collars!
One of the best sitcoms ever. This and the Mary Tyler Moore show (on Saturday nights, iirc) were good times watching at my grandmaās when I was a kid in the ā70s.
I DVRād this many years ago and still watch it on Thanksgiving
Hi, Bob.
ā¦that looks a lot like the frasier set
Professor Neutron?
Pointed collars, pointed collars, pointed collars, pointed collars.
More moo goo gai pan!
This old comedy has aged surprisingly well. I feel like thatās rare.
I haven’t seen this since it aired and partway through it I realized “Moo Goo Goo Goo!”
It just triggered something in my brain, since I was a kid I still think moo goo goo goo whenever I hear moo goo gai pan but I had forgotten where it came from.
Hi Bob
I think I’ve seen an snl skit with superheroes in this apartment.
This may be a pre thanksgiving gummy talikig, but I call bobs joke style āquantum jokingā he paces his dialogue so well. And he perfected the art of the one way phone call joke. His albums are full of nothing but that.
But he dances on the edge of the anticipated punch line. He gets there teases it then swerves to meet the audience. Iām convinced most his bits have 2 endings he can dip in or out of.
Fucking genius tempo. Not show off fast. But more like bring the audience with you, give them time to keep up.
This episode will always remind me of being a child and watching it with my dad. Heās not dead, but lives far away and boy did I just get wistful
Yes. We used to get drunk and sing songs.
$93.80 Hey that’s not bad for delivery food for four people.
“What do you want Mr. Carlin?”
“I’ll have the sweet and sour pork.”
“Make up your mind, Mr. Carlin.”
This show was brilliant
