I do this in The Division 2 all the time. Such a great looking game and atmosphere.
An older game, but Oblivion all the way.
Liurnia of the Lakes
For me it was World Of Warcraft back in 2004 flying to Thunder Bluff. The colors in the wyverens wings were amazing colors and the sun was setting. I was stunned by how good it looked.
Every 30 seconds in Cyberpunk 2077 tbh. It’s baffling how detailed and believable that city is
Emerging from the sewer in Oblivion, and entering the alien ship in Crysis.
The graphics are stylized and not realistic but the draw distance in breath of wild really blew my mind at times
I’ve got back into CP77 and I will literally walk to my next objective if I can. I love strolling through the city and just taking the environment in. Great game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 always has me stopping and just looking around.
Sorry, but Starfield.
The skies are always something to behold.
Unpopular opinion but Portal 2 and even 1 to an extent, it is exactly my cup of tea
Ghost of tsushima, I’m a sucker for Japanese landscapes.
Edit: But I still prefer rdr2 because of it’s insane realism with the environment interactions while remaining realistic looking.
Being able to play cyberpunk with Ray tracing is an amazing graphical experience. Lately I’ve been walking around the city and just staring in awe at how far games have come.
Spyro
I remember when as a kid, I was looking at Waterfalls in Skyrim and listening to Secunda. Best gaming moments. It was magical.
Last of us 2 has great visuals, as well as CP2077 and Detroit: Become Human
Horizon Forbidden West.
Dead Sexy
Forza Motorsport right now
I used to sit around in Destiny just admiring the backgrounds/visuals while waiting for a public event to start. Some gorgeous work by the design team on the skies & general atmosphere
For me it’s far cry 5, new dawn, and 6. Standing at a high point and looking in the distance
Red Dead Redemption 2 of course, but also Sons of the Forest
Cyberpunk2077, sometimes I just stop and think “ this looks like a good time for a photo”
yk half life 2 got me doing this, just seeing the dead bodies makes me happy
Honestly, a lot of the Assassin’s Creed games do environments extremely well.
When I pulled the master sword from the pedestal in A Link To The Past and it went from gloomy to bright and colorful.
That was 16 bit glory to my eyes.
Starfield in a nutshell. I feel like a space tourist taking screenshots every few minutes.
I think Witcher 3 was the first time i had that, the sun sets are just stunning
Elder Scrolls Skyrim. First time in Blackreach.
Did it last night in the Witcher 3
This is the reason I love Far Cry games so much
I don’t stop but I am enjoying the scenery in AC Origins. They crammed so much detail into the bustling streets, old-timey buildings, landscapes.
Now, if only the NPCs would stop mumbling the same lines over and over. It sounds like “Wise decision Geralt” or something in another language?
Basically my entire Death Stranding play through
Skyrim
Act 2 of RDR2 like what’s the story? There is one? I’m just fishing y’all.
I think this is the experience that people feel is truly lacking in Starfield but yet can’t quite pinpoint it.
Spider-Man on PS5. I used to love going to NYC, since I moved out of state swinging through the game is just beautiful.
At the time of release “the vanishing of Ethan Carter” don’t know how it holds up though…
bloodborne, that gothic architecture was just sublime
So…Ghost of Tsushima? Actually walked through forests and hills for hours
Jedi Survivor was that game for me. I can just watch the sprawling landscape of Jedha for hours.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Crazy views throughout the game.
Far Cry. The first one. I remember thinking that the water looked better than real life lol
During the pandemic I’ve replayed RDR2 and spend a lot of time fishing and just traveling. It was a relief.
I do this in Snowrunners.
There’s obvious options like RDR2, Elden Ring, Ratchet & clank… But my unpopular opinion is Far Cry 5. There’s something about it that makes it so beautiful, so cozy, a place you wanna stay in.
As someone who lives in Oregon I gotta give a huge shoutout to Days Gone. I’ve hiked all through the area the game takes place in and Bend Studios did an amazing job.
Elden Ring. Hands down. Several times.
Elden Ring all over the place.
Deep Rock Galactic, sometimes. You wouldnt expect a game that is 100% procedural caves to be pretty, but it is.
I remember doing that in the first Halo back in the day.
i dont care what people will say about the game itself, but sometimes [Halo Infinite](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAySaVDggOo) is just stunning paired with its soundtrack and ambiance
22 minutes into outer wilds
