Back in the late 1990s when I was in my early 20s one of my buddies drove around in an early 1990s LTD and we constantly tried to make him drive around with this song blasting while everyone wore those glasses and fake mustaches… We never could find the right costumes.
In 1994… when this came out (I’m old I know) we had to research a “contemporary artist”. Spike Jonze was at his height with this, Buddy Holly from Weezer, Oh So Quiet from Bjork…. Etc.
I hated getting up in front of class to do oral reports, so I picked Spike Jonze and wrote about his videos and references whatever.
The guy before me droned on for 35 minutes about Picasso which didn’t even fit the assignment and he held up some tiny pictures in a book.
I went down to AV got a video projector, and when I was up after him turned off the lights, hit play- and Sabotage took over the whole front wall of the classroom.
Bar none the greatest music video of all time imo. I thought that when it came out and now at 41 I still feel the same. There will never be anything like Beastie Boys again.
I always forget this song is damn near 30 years old. It sounds so timeless. Like you could have told me its from any decade from the 80’s to now and I would be believe you.
Adam MCA came to our snowboard camp. And here to ride baker. Hung tough for a bit. I was worried about him jumping around on a snowboard since he’s was so skinny! Hours on stage sweating his ass off. Tried to fatten him up but the vegan thing. Hahaha.
The whole vibe of the bar I used to hang out in would change when this song came on. You could just look around and see it. People would talk louder, smile, joke around more. Fucking great tune.
A classic 🙂

Picasso guy was pissed.
The live on Letterman version is intense.
Check Mirrorball – Spike Jonze.
Tops.

Greatest video ever?
One of my favorite songs of theirs.
Fred Kelly as Bunny. Gets me every time
I’ve always had a strong appreciation for *classical music*.
Masterpiece of a music video
In “Intergalactic” he reads one of the lyrics as “a pinch from the neck on Mr Spock.”
Does this keep anyone else up at night?
My first rock concert was lalapalooza 1994 and when they busted this shit out I was addicted to concerts forever.

This is peak MTV

Best trailer for a movie that never got released
I love classical music

When JJ Abrams used it in one of the sequences with a young James T Kirk, I was quite surprised. And pleased.
Their [live version](https://youtu.be/YZ5yKJlhbiA) is just as dope.
How is this song so good? 20 years of listening to it and still every time it comes on my energy goes through the roof.
This song rocks harder than anything has any right to.
I scared an SUV full of people – mostly strangers – when this song came on the radio and I got real INTO it…
Did I mention I’m 6’1″ and 280 pounds? 🙂 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII CAN’T STAAAND IT! I know ya planned it!

I always have to watch the beavis and butthead commentary after I watch the original.

*WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAA*
The Beavis and Butt-Head commentary for this was my favorite.
