Crazy plays like this are why College ball is so much fun, a major league player who allowed this kind of mayhem to occur would be sitting on the bench for the rest of their brief career. I like that he explained it for those who don’t watch baseball as well.
I did this in little league, except I didn’t even pause at second base. They overthrew 3rd, and I was home free. Gave our team manager/third base coach a heart attack during the play, so when I got back to the dugout he gave me: “Good job. *Never do that again.*”
There’s a lot of failures by the defense, none worse than the third baseman wondering into no man’s land, but I’m also extraordinarily curious how a college pitcher is topping off in the high 60s. That’s about where 14 year olds throw.
What’s the history behind stealing a base? It seems like an strange thing to allow? Was it a deliberate inclusion and if so what does it add to the game?
Or did it evolve from an oversight in the rules that they decided to make an official part of the game?
It just seems so random to me and I’m not sure what it contributes to the sport?
all i know about baseball i learned from cultural osmosis but i still dont understand why this dude was still allowed to score
I love little league baseball

Actually a good play by the catcher, the SS just didn’t throw him the ball because… reasons?
This is a pretty cool watch. Is this why baseball games are so long and drawn out though?

I guess we know one reason this team is 0-7.
As a none American, I literally cannot see a difference between these two videos. They make equally little sense to me.
