Mother*fucker*! I first saw this when I was 4 and it took 25 years to make it stop constantly playing in the back of my mind. How long will I have to live with it this time?!
Everytime I drink water this is playing in my head and I don’t stop until I get to 12. No idea why.
One-two-three FOUR FIVE, six-seven-eight NINE TEN. ELEVEN TWELVE.
Really can’t count to 12 without it.
Helluvan earworm, too.
Kind of annoyed this video started with the number two and completely skipped one.
Yeah, we got this in England too. Living my head rent-free.
Pinball Number Count was originally produced in 1976 by Imagination, Inc. in San Francisco, California for the Children’s Television Workshop. It made its debut on Sesame Street in 1977.

That’s crazy! As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew exactly what it was. From 40 freakin years ago.
Holy shit….
Now I expect an owl to ask me how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop.
Apparently, three.
[I prefer that version by Venetian Snares.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqN53CBb9to)
One of the things that amazed me later in life was trying to transcribe this song. The meter is all over the place. Seriously complicated and amazing. And the melody is so damn smart. It is a seriously amazing arrangement and the sax solo is 🔥
I’ve been trying to find the creepy one that either came out in the late70s or early80s.
It’s a woman singing the numbers slowly.
Oneeee twooooo threeeeeee
So do they just do Pointer Brothers songs? Anything else would be plain stupid.
i still sing this at random intervals.
also, i ten to count to the rythm and style of this.
This is permanently seared into my brain from my childhood
Alright, are we doing this, fellow old ones?

Yo this was the Pointer Sisters? Love that! I never knew.
Never knew this was The Pointer Sisters! Probably the first song that ever got stuck in my head as a kid 🤣😂🤣
I just discovered Netflix has smartphone games and I tried one earlier this week. It was an extreme miniature golf game with exotic settings. While playing, all I could think about was the Sesame Street pinball cartoon. So I was playing the song in my head while trying to putt the ball into the hole.
I had no idea this was the pointer sisters. Mind blown.
I remember seeing this on Sesame Street a very long time ago (in Dutch though). Never thought I would be seeing it again in my live 😅
Ah, finally the source of what I was beginning to think was just a fever dream!
there’s this amazing present-day trio that pays homage to the Pointer Sisters. they are called ‘The Pointer Brothers’ and they do a lot of corporate gigs, private events etc. hire them today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OwgTEB51Os
I had no idea that was The Pointer Sisters.
The version on the official Sesame Street channel is better quality.

They also made a neat compilation of retro animations.

Oh god, this and “Three is a Magic Number” are seared into my brain for all eternity.
Livin rent free in my head since ’85.
Had no clue it was the Pointer Sisters!!!! Sesame Street sneakily giving me culture. Thank you big bird
Oh my God. I remember this!!! Talk about unearthing a memory from me. Wowee. Thanks for the nostalgia!!
That was the fucking Pointer Sisters!?
I had no idea this was the Pointer Sisters. Thanks for that.
What a blast from the past. Epic now knowing it was the Pointer Sisters, all along!
My little one (who turns 4 soon) loved Sesame Street for a while, and [Pentatonix did a pretty cool version of that song](https://youtu.be/0b-v-wMR69k). The OG is the best, but I’m not mad at the new one.
Classic, saved for future generations.
I had no idea this was the Pointer Sisters. I loved this as a kid <3
this is how I taught my kids to count to twelve. never knew it was the pointer sisters.
This is how sesame street taught me to count to 12. [Honk around the clock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTOQ9no9ho0)
DAAAMN! This was an instant time machine. Awesome. Thank you!!
Thumbnails you can hear.
This has been playing on a constant loop in the back of my brain for the past 40 years, but I never knew that it was the Pointer Sisters that sang this song.
Also wonderful: learning 1-20 in [psychedelic sitar Spanish](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOkbuwRUTZo).
70’s Sesame Street was my religion.
