My cousin had this game, and I remember him showing it to me and saying you could teach it words using the microphone attachment. I never got to really experience it, but I remember being like 10 years old and giggling at the name of the game when he showed me it.
I used to creep my mom out with it. It was hilarious, she grew up in a ranch secluded in Mexico so seeing me interact with the thing on the TV made her think it was witchcraft. She is from that generation that believed if you spun a rock album backwards you would hear the voice of the devil lol.
My sister was the only one to successfully complete this game. I remember we went on vacation to Cape Cod for a week and found out that we could change the date back to before we left.
Yes!! I was just trying to explain this game to someone and they acted like I was insane or made it up. My mom was so creeped out when he’d be on and she’d pop in my room. Didn’t the VMU have mini games for this too?
I remember thinking I was clever and moving the system clock forward years so I could come back to a grown Seaman. Yeah, that tank was filthy and everything in it was dead.
I worked on a market research project for this game. We interviewed respondents and then watched them play and interact with the game and Dreamcast – exactly like the movies portray it.
The teen interactions and verbatims were hilarious for exactly the reasons you would think.
I remember a line if you said his name wrong. “I’m seaman” he said “semen is whats in your mouth” something really surprising and offensive like that.
this gives me nightmares!
What am I looking at.
Honestly the Leonard Nimoy voiceover was the most shocking thing about that game.
That, and the time it misunderstood my ~13 year old brother and asked him if he “worked in the sex industry.”
I only found out about Seaman from the AVGN episode, but it does look like an interesting game!
I remember this in a gaming magazine of some kind back in the day.
Pretty sure it was the first thing I ever jerked off to.
Leonard Nimoy’s most authentic performance lol
I can confidently say that that fish game was A Head of its time.
There was a [thread on Resetera](https://www.resetera.com/threads/best-way-to-play-seaman-today.100993/) some years back, might be worth reading over if you are feeling nostalgic.
God I do now – thanks for tonight’s nightmare

I know of it from the Video game nerd
I had *Resident Evil 3: Nemesis* on Dreamcast and I could see my health monitor in the VMU without going to my inventory. Incredible.
Narrated by Leonard Nimoy!

It came with a mic. I think its the only game to use it.

See you in the funny pages….
You can still hear “the nautilus” in your head.
No, no one remembers it. Seaman is a figment of your imagination. You are hallucinating. Take your medication and go back to sleep
No, what’s that?
Only because of AVGN
Why does that thing remind me of Elon Musk?
I still have a working Dreamcast and this game.
I remember the magazine ad of the dude presumably mating with a human sized fish under the covers in bed
This game emotionally moved me when I finished it. After so many deaths of my little buddy it was amazing.

Thanks to AI imaging, I’ve seen plenty on dream casts

Most disturbing game in the history of gaming.

Seaman!
Yes and I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting you, Seaman! I’ll visit soon, I promise!
I try to forget in vain every day of my life
