Amazing memories, the headshot system was soo new, and it played so smooth for a ps1 game. Voice acting wasn’t half bad, and some missions were really cool.
I played the third one for Playstation and it seemed quite innovative in some of its mechanics.
how not to forget the hours I spent shooting enemies with the taser
Tazer all the guys in the balls…till they catch fire! Recently did a full playthrough of this on a emulator and I’m currently about 4/6 levels into the 2nd then onto the 3rd etc.
“Copy, I’m on my way!” **proceeds to wreck havok in a DC bank, not stop a bomb in a metro station, a park, incinerate a mausoleum, hide and seek in a museum, get a Tinder chick in an Ukraine cathedral, burn a Kazak barn to stop a missile.** Happy memories, the game was as joyful as a Schwartzy action film from the eighties.
Literally the only thing I remember about that game was zapping people until they burn, and the confused almost horrified looks my dad gave me when we showed him with such pride what we figured out. To us the game just became a challenge to do it to EVERYONE on the map.
I loved this game as well as the sequel so much. Third one kind of lost me if I remember correctly.
Edit: Just went back and took a look at the franchise. Have to admit I do not remember the graphics looking that horrible. Must have upgraded them in my memory.
I was never sure how i was supposed to feel starting someone on fire with a taser. I might have done it too much.
I was just talking about this game a few days ago! They need to remake it, the stun gun was the shit!!

Awww man you about to have me break out to PS1 emulator and waste my whole damn day.
Just came here for the Tazer Barbecue comments. Great game, but that Tazer really is the most memorable and fun thing in the whole series!
Played this in a hotel room in uk back in the 90s when they had ps1 you could rent, awesome!
“Anton Girduex!”
“Oh my God…Syphon Filter”
Weird, titular line to remember, but the way it was said had my high, teenage self reeling in laughter.
This is always on my list when people ask my top 10 all time
You have jogged a memory of a game I long forgot. Now I just think back to running around as an old lady setting people on fire with a taser
I probably spent hours tazing the poor enemies as they burned for god knows how long
Bullet proof jackets… Bullet proof jackets everywhere
I still own the original trilogy! The PSP games were great as well.
Taser for the win. Such a great series. The first level in Syphon Filter 2 with the guys parachuting in is still one of my favorites.
All I remember is how ridiculous Gabe looked running
I’ll never forget the scientist begging for his life…
This game is so good!

Oddly, the only one I ever finished was omega strain, that game was so good, but also greatly dragged down by the online multiplayer aspect of it.
We need a remaster!!
Staaahp
Don’t shoot.
Mooom.
When you fire taser at your allies in russian voiceover.
This game served as inspiration for my username for reddit 🙂
Follow the scientist…just follow the scientist…then go to anger management meetings for six months.
You mean Taser Filter?
Ahhhhh So fucking good . First level alone was great .
Tasering enemys 20 Meter away🙈
Syphon Filter was my fist ps1 game.
Never experienced the full game. But boy howdy did I play the fuck out of the demo on those old demo discs.
I absolutely loved this game. Thanks for the memories.
This was the first action game I ever played that wasn’t on nintendo 64.
Gabe and his 1000ft. taser

The crunchy sound of picking up ammo was oddly satisfying.
I remember tazing badguys until they caught fire.
I’ll never forget bursting out laughing with the one guard noise, You know the one, when you hit them with that taser. Oh the memories.
Holding the taser on people until they burst into flames was… Really something.
This was my very first video game I played.
Man my parents didn’t know what an ESRB rating was, or I guess my dad didn’t care lmao. 3 year old tasing people until they were set on fire…
I miss this series a lot tbh, Syphon Filter was its own genre. It would be cool to see Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter return
This game deserves a remake for the PS5

I barely remember it at all, but I remember I LOVED it as a child.
Beautiful game
I remember sniping people from unreasonable distanced with a silenced pistol and tapping the d-pad 20 times until it said “headshot”.
Old syphon filter was amazing. They need to make a throwback reboot!!!
all i remember is incenerating people with a taser on that subway underground/metro station map.
