The nostalgia, damn.
Only people without souls don’t miss BF2 & all the quality expansions!
I remember BF 1942 coming out and it was buggy and unplayable for half a year, maybe? Then it was the most amazing thing ever.
2142 was still the best
Yea absolutely. I made a map for that game.
Also, the Desert Combat mod was great.

I bought a USB DVD drive simply to play 2142 a couple of weeks ago.
Totally worth it. Game is still fun. Small but somewhat active community still
Loved BF2… but never owned a PC good enough to run it on anything besides min 🤣
I played the SHIT out of BF1942 Wake Island demo.
But I didn’t buy a retail copy of a BF game until BF: Vietnam which I played tons of. Also gave time to BF2, BF:2142, Battlefield Bad Company 2 (best game), and lots to Battlefield 4.
Haven’t played a bit of any BF game since BF4
Anything after bf2 and its expansions are too fast for my old fingers and eyes heh

1942 for its time was nothing short of amazing. So many late nights playing that with my brother on servers filled with people.

me and friends played it to death in multiplayer, there was even a type of trick jump mod with sportscars, a little bit like an old and bad trackmania, but it was fun! anyone know the name of it :D?
Buddy and I ran a computer gaming center back in the day. This was always on the list. And with the Desert Combat mod. Took me a while to get used to flying Apaches, but I was death from above with that thing. Of course, Jeep kills were the best kills. Good times.
I really miss BF2 with the expansions. I haven’t had as much fun in a game since but that was largely due to the group of people I played with but the game was a ton of fun. I will never forget the jihad ATV on the Warlord palace map, it never failed to piss people off.
I played a lot of 1942 when i was a kid but i just screwed around and shot my own guys lol

BF2 was pretty much the first online game I played at like 10 years old. Fond memories of my moms stepdad(pretty much just my grandpa but I never called him grandpa just by his first name) making me an account and playing it with him
They should remake the early games with modern graphics. The last couple BF games have looked great, but are kind of a drag to play.
