What the actual fuck have they done to this story?
Could vampires enter a church in the books?
1910?! That’s disappointing.
For the love of God: why?
A bad CW/Netflix level defilement and mockery of the source material. Zero Surprise.
If they hadn’t tacked on “Interview with the Vampire,” I wouldn’t have thought it was an adaptation aside from, “Hey, they got the two guys and a kid set up too.” But other than that, this has zero to do with the book. Lestat is all ego. He is charisma. He doesn’t whisper. He enters a room and makes sure that all eyes are on him. That’s not Lestat.
Well, Cruise’s take doesn’t have to worry about being usurped.
Also, that’s a bad cover of “Dear God.” [It’s not like the original was a jaunty tune.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p554R-Jq43A&ab_channel=XTCVEVO) The original would have even worked better for this trailer as well.

It looks nice at least. And dude playing Lestat looks like a young Michael York. But yeah, this is just generic vampire show. Were they really so scared of keeping Louis as a slave owner? And why is Daniel so old? In the book he was simply referred to as “the boy,” yet you have this old guy playing him? *sigh*

Everyone crying and rending garments over it not being a faithful adaptation should realise that Anne (until her death) and her son Christopher were both exec producers on the show (and on the Mayfair Witches adaptation) as part of the AMC deal. So if you have problems, take it up with the writer/owner(s) of the series.
Well… It’s a shame about some of the changes – aging Claudia up defeats the purpose of the character imo. And aging up ‘the boy’/Daniel too.
Changing the century is interesting and making Louis black (in the South no less) is an interesting take. Curious why they did that.
Hopefully Lestat is as’ Lestat like’ as he is in the books.
No point in giving up on it before giving it a chance based on a trailer.

I’m happy to finally see a real trailer instead of just the little teasers they’ve been sharing. The contacts are off putting IMO but I guess maybe that’s intended? I was really excited when this was first announced but I admit I’m less so after all the network, showrunner, and story changes. I’m still going to give it a shot but my expectations aren’t super high.
There’s two subreddits for anyone interested…/r/InterviewVampire is just show related and /r/VampireChronicles covers both the show and novel series.
So… they disregard the book entirely and decided to just do their own thing. This isn’t even the right time period. Why even pay for the licensing / IP if you are going to scrap everything? *sigh*

I know this is nick-picky after they’ve changed so much already, but wasn’t the interviewer supposed to be a pretty young guy? I know Daniel Malloy was in his early 30s in the books, but it seems they might be combining Malloy and David Talbot in this character.
Feels lacking…don’t see how actors could follow the film adaptation.
Wish they did a faster paced Vampire Chronicles covering more books at a time, bringing in more characters would be the only way to step out of the shadow of Cruise/Pitt/Dunst

Ok I know this is shallow and stupid… But I really wanted Lestat to be brutally hot. Like otherworldly. Instead he turned his head and was just … A white guy with weird eyes.
It looks fine, but it’s hard not to miss Tom Cruise just going for it.
Too bad. HBO would have done this right.
