To be fair to EA: they did that with NFS Heat but I think that was mostly Ghost Studios influence that made that happen.
Also I believe most of the work done in the new NFS is just the groundwork Ghost did before getting kicked off the project. Hell it even could have been the sequel repurposed, who knows?
And released it without any marketing so if it underperforms they can point a finger and go “see this shit doesn’t sell, should’ve been a game as a service”
Car handling really is garbage tbh. Every ‘brake’ the car tries to start drifting, my car feels like it ‘auto straightens’ rather than ‘free flowing’ and handbrake turns into corners are laughable forced exercise
I started playing it via GamePass (not very much) and I must say graphically I am pretty disapointed. In my opinion, NFS Most Wanted (the reboot) looks just as good or even better and that game is 10 years old. Though to be fair that game looked incredible back then.
MTX, awful design choices, progressive poisoning, broken releases, battle passes – all this shit can go away if more people just stopped buying bad games and stopped reward toxic business practise
It was a smaller game, so it was only $40. But it had VR support, single-player campaign, and an online versus. It wasn’t big, but it delivered what it promised with no bullshit.
In defense of EA, they pretty much let their devs do whatever they want so long as they get their return. Pretty much every major pitfall the past few years (see: Anthem) was a function of the developer making horrible decisions and the bosses letting them do their thing.
Legit, I was so mad when Star Wars Squadrons came out and it was amazing, but the developers were just like “That’s it. Here’s a little bit more content, and we’re done”
Like, how dare you! The *one* time I wanted EA to monetize the shit out of a game to add tons of paid DLC, and they just give us one free update and bounce! You get your asses back here right now and exploit me, because I need more of this!
What? Nfs is good?

Jedi: Fallen Order was the same IMO.
They released one?
i didn’t know a new nfs was coming out. loved heat. thanks for the heads up. 👍
Why do the characters look like that though? Not a knock on the game just curious about the decision to make them cartoonish

There’s a good nfs? I must be dreaming.

The fact that the meme comes from pokemon makes this post even sweeter
I didn’t like the way that new NFS game looks
Can’t wait to try it
For me 83 dollars is not worth it

I’ll grab it on sale for sure. About to play last of us and witcher so this will be a good game for next year
it’s a pretty good game the customisation is definitely the best part
It’s Criterion, that’s why.

Hopefully a sign of better days ahead
Star Wars: Squadrons was similar.

Lowkey NFS is fun. My favorite is Hot Pursuit 2.
I was surprised with fallen order as well
Seems like EA might be listening to the complaints. NHL 23 is incredible
I mean… Heat didn’t have micro transaction … I could be wrong so I would be happy if someone corrected me! 🙂
Shame it’s $70 on release
Just wait till they come out with a major update

No way. I haven’t been up to date with Unbound since the first trailer. I’m glad it’s doing well.
Oh it’s the end times…
Now to remaster Spore and LOTR:BFME!
The last one was the star wars game. It was really good as well

Wait that’s illegal
One big thing about this is it was announced 3 months ago and released today. No years of waiting and hyping.
i think they stopped the micro transactions cause people got ape shit over nfs payback having it. kinda like battlefront
