The actor who plays Garak (Andrew Robinson) is so compelling he feels like a permanent part of the show but in reality he was only in 20% of the episodes.
If Garak was one of your favorite characters you really should go read “A Stitch in Time”, written by Andrew J. Robinson the actor who played him. It was hard to put down and definitely has the ‘voice’ of Garak. It’s basically him retelling his life from childhood up to and including the events after the end of DS9, I’m sure at least some of it was true.
For those unfamiliar with the series, pretty much everything Garak (the alien) says is either a half truth or has some alternate meaning.
To be fair I don’t think the salient point is that Garak is an alien, more that Garak is a sociopathic spy who is very, very, good at his job.
Everyone knows he’s a spy, but he knows that everyone knows that he knows that they know.
Anything with Garak I’m going to upvote.
No imagine how fucked up this conversation is if you’re one who ships these too.
If only the kid had said it was a lion, then a tiger, then a bear. They would have believed him
Those walls are literally just plastic pallets.
Shimerman and Robinson made that show.
**DS9** was such an amazing show.
All of the supporting actors on this show were excellent and most of the main actors sucked.
He’s not wrong.
Me personally I don’t really lie because it’s too much work. Easier to just tell the truth rather than have to try and remember a lie.
For [spies](https://youtu.be/gCysd1kiR-o) and conmen, lying is part of the job.
Telling the same lie 4 times in a row is just being a bad liar and sucking at your job.

These two were totally fucking.
Garak is the best character in all of Star Trek and I mean that.
Trek is at its best in moments like these, how ever rare they are

Garfield and Friends gave another alternative moral which is that sometimes liars tell the truth.
