sitting in a country pub in rural wales one day i was watching the alan partridge show on the tv. bare in mind im from the united states. so im sitting there watching this show and im getting pretty drunk, and suddenly bursting out of my mouth i proclaim, “this alan partridge guy looks just like steve coogan!” there was a short silence and then the entire pub burst into laughter “it’s the same bloody fellow ya daft yank!” it was at that moment i truly appreciated steve coogan as an actor. i swallowed my pride and ordered my 9th snakebite with black ~~current~~ currant. thanks /u/JimmyMack_ for noticing my typo 🙂

Longest 4 minutes of my life. I like this comedic actor but that character givin Colin Robinson energy.
This story has been told for many years about British 50s actress and former “blonde bombshell” Diana Dors, whose birth name was indeed Fluck (a totally legit name btw).
Allegedly, after she became famous, she made an appearance to open the village fête in the town she was from and the (?) mayor introduced her saying something like
“It’s my great pleasure to introduce international star of stage and screen Diana Dors, or, since she’s a local girl, some of you might remember her as Diana Clunt”
