What’s up with all the movies about rich executives/companies? Did it start with The Social Network? I feel like I’ve seen this trailer for a dozen different companies in the last couple years
I’ve heard the anecdote about how Nike signed Jordan and it’s interesting but takes about 5 minutes to talk about.. not sure about stringing it out to a movie
It’s actually a pretty interesting story. I’m gonna go into details, but Nike was a nothing company at the time, outside of tje track world. And they took a huge risk on Jordan, with a contract that had language where both parties could have lost a lot if certain bench marks weren’t hit.
I’m just going to skip this giant Nike ‘we’re so amazing and adventurous’ ad.
This was in the zenith of their child-labor years. I’m glad you made MJ a billionaire, but you can fuck right off.
Converse and Adidas wouldn’t give MJ his own shoe as a rookie and Nike was mainly a running shoe company at the time that seized the opportunity to branch out and it massively paid off. There’s a story to tell and it could be a good movie, or it could be a tone deaf Hollywood treatment. I’d wait for the reviews.
I heard a radio broadcast talking about this premise. It was real. Nike approached the parents and managed to get a deal. As the “Brand” was fairly new, they got a grad graphic designer to create the logo (The swipe/tick) for under $100. The colours of the footwear were not “regulation” for the NBA and Nike paid every fine Jordan received, which gained them notoriety and publicity. Jordan performed and became HUGE and so did Nike. When the brand took off, the graphic student who created the logo received shares in the company as a reward…ending up worth Millions..
The subject could make for a mildly interesting short documentary but a fictional portrayal is just going to be a very long and uninteresting Nike commercial.
I legit couldn’t tell if this was one of those weird “is this a movie or an ad for Doritos” type shit. Something about it seemed so silly.
This movie sounds like an April fools joke.
i thought that was a nike ad.
I can’t tell if this is a silly movie, a serious movie, or a great commercial for Nike

This is the weakest premise for a movie I’ve ever seen.
I legit thought this was a Nike commericial fisguised as a “Funny or Die”-style parody trailer. There isn’t even an actor playing MJ!
How are you making an Air Jordan movie and putting the spotlight on the agent? If this doesn’t 88% focus on Michael Jordan this is going to be a joke.
Bold of them to make a movie about selling things using Michael Jordan and they don’t once show Jordan.
If this is real, Hollywood is officially creatively bankrupt
I’m wondering why it’s a R rating. I mean is the language just absolutely filthy?
What song was used in this spot?! Can’t get it out of my head.
One long Nike ad I’m sure. Whomever put on the idea can go fuck themselves. I’d rather watch space jam.
I’m looking forward to it
I can’t wait to watch a movie about rich people getting richer.
Guys. :massive bong rip:. What if we made a Michael Jordan movie.
But. :another massive bong rip:. We make it about the shoes, and Jordan isn’t actually in it.
I mean, apparently some producer was also high as fuck, because this movie was made.
Oh great, another 2 hour company ad.
Why not just make a Michael Jordan biopic

Wow we’re finally past the age of boomer pandering movies and into the age of Gen X pandering movies, lol.
Barf. Top Gun for a shoe company.
You can’t convince me this wasn’t made by AI

This seems more like an Apple TV streaming mini-series than a feature film.

Viola Davis next movie should be a meta role that pokes fun at her typecasted characters.
