Crazy to think about how we treated American citizens and even crazier that every generation has an example of the new age version of wrongful imprisonment and we never seem to connect the dots on a large scale and have it represented by the News and Educational outlets that Should be providing a fair representation of our history. The amount of people still alive who are told their experiences were hit with the magic eraser is an unacceptable form disgrace and continuous revictimization
I’ve met GT a few times in the past during work related events. Each time I had opportunity to spend a fair amount of time with him in a small group setting and he just came across as a truly lovely man. I was really impressed by him as a person. I’ve had a lot of experiences with celebrities and a lot of them – most of them maybe – are not particularly pleasant. But George Takei stands out in my memory as a genuinely kind person with a lot of heart.
