THEN THE WAR HAPPENED
What a great picture. It’s good to see happy pictures from the past instead of unsmiling posed pictures.
This picture is worth a thousand words!
so much joy in one picture ๐
Per /u/notbob1959 over [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/OldSchoolCool/comments/byclal/a_boy_and_his_dog_1920_colorized/eqharyv/):
> The source of the photo is the South Carolina Historical Society. I have emailed them about the photo which is found in the papers of Agatha Aimar Simmons of Charleston, S.C. The photograph is not marked or identified in any way, but appears to be early 20th century. The child may be Agatha but they can’t say for certain.
However, in [this tweet](https://twitter.com/SChistoricalsoc/status/504626958995849216) by the South Carolina Historical Society they state:
> In continuing National Dog Day, enjoy this photograph Agatha Aimar Simmons collection at SCHS archives.
