My girlfriend threw up during that scene. I had to drive her home. Went the next day on my own to see the whole movie.
One of the best scenes in cinematic history. First saw it as a kid in the mid 80s on VHS. I got to see it a few years ago on the big screen. I’ve seen it countless times and it’s still an awesome scene.

My whole family watched that on tv when I was like 6 or something. Had traumatic nightmares for quite a while and avoided spaghetti for some time also.
I saw this in a theater in San Francisco with my then-wife, her gay brother, and a largely gay male audience. Trust me when I say that the reaction to this scene was….amazing.

I attended the opening with a group of friends. The guy next to me stood up in the middle of the chestburster scene, groaned loudly, and passed out cold on his feet. It scared the crap out of everyone in the theater. We dragged him out to the men’s room and got him to come to. Turned out he’d taken a quaalude before the show.

I watched Alien as a small child. I was probably 4 or 5. My mom talks about spending most of the movie with her hand over my eyes.
