People would actually “develop land” in Second life and sell it. People made a living just like that. The whole experience devolved into private sex clubs and virtual sex toys. It just got weird af, and now we get to watch it all unfold again via Metaverse. Yay!
VR does not currently have the market penetration necessary to make a large, persistent, massively multi-player world viable. The reasons for this are obvious:
* Minimum system requirements that most people don’t meet yet;
* Space requirements and tethers that most people don’t have room for;
* High upfront cost that most people cannot afford.
The Quest 2 is a step towards adressing those issues, but the point remains that mobile gamers VASTLY outnumber PC and console gamers. Make a Quest phone that can do everything a phone does plus VR, and then you’ll see some movement.
EDIT: Alternatively, a small form factor PC like the Steam Deck that can be worn on the body and plugged into an HMD.
All that money going into meta verse and all the games look like complete shit.
That was funny
Esteban deserves a VIP pass!!!
Ahhh Second Life. Nothing saltier than obese sex addicts having their online fuck forum trolled.
[This is the video I remember seeing.](https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/agxh6n/guy_hacks_into_a_second_life_club_and_the_members/)

Oh man I forgot about Esteban Winsmore
This couldn’t NOT link to a second life video
Please let Meta be the second coming of Esteban Winsmore!
Third life
hell yeah, estaban! The creator tries to distance himself from estaban and doesn’t really like to impressions.
This looks cool but it is nothing compared to the clips I’ve seen from SURVIVE metaverse. The graphic is better and they can be compared to GTA5.
