I started watching this movie without knowing anything about the background story.
I found the start of the movie very interesting. I’ve never seen a movie that featured temporary farm workers. I knew vaguely that there was a work visa like that.
Then , while watching the movie, I looked up the names of the characters and realized it’s a true story.
I liked the movie a lot. I liked Michael Peña in his comedic roles. Then, started seeing him playing serious roles. They weren’t bad.
I thought he did a good portrayal of the character. They all did.
That bit about his grade 2 teacher was true.
It pushed me to read more about Jose Hernandez. He seems to be an amazing person. I learned that he left NASA later because staying would mean being away for a long time. He didn’t want his wife to bear the responsibility of raising their 5 kids all by herself. That to me shows two very mature parents who were/are able to balance their wants with their other roles and responsibilities.
Also, I learned that temporary farm workers can become US citizens. I’m very happy for them. It seems like a fair reward for hard labor that benefits/benefited us all.
That looks terrible.
Another “make your dreams come true” propaganda piece.
Felt like a trailer for an after school special.
I can’t see this dude and not associate him with Scientology.
what a weirdo
This movie looks like the director and actors got tired of making it on day 1 of shooting
