It’s the kind of expansion/reimagining that a good TV reboot SHOULD be. It basically takes EVERY question or decision the movie made, looks at it from a couple different angles, and then takes care to address that in its own story, while still taking the things that worked in the film and bringing them over.
I’m pretty excited for this, which I wasn’t expecting to say before I clicked play.
For everyone saying “why,” turning a well-liked, critically acclaimed sports movie into a TV show worked out pretty well for Friday Night Lights (granted, I didn’t watch the trailer yet).
League of Their Own is the shit! Was the first movie I ever saw 3 times in a theater as a little kid. Never envisioned it as a show! But I have to watch everything Kate Berlant is in or I cannot enter Valhalla so fuck it
I hope this brings more younger people to discover the Original. I work with a younger group of people at my job and none of them heard of the movie when I quoted Tom Hanks 🙁
The trailer was not great by any means. I loved the movie but it’s just rehashing popular scenes from the movie and making them worse. Nothing really stood out so far. I will give it a shot but definitely not a good start.
Well the movie is my favorite sports movie so it’s good a lot to live up to. I can’t say I think this looks that great but it may be good. Worth a couple episodes. Hoping it exceeds my expectations because I think it’s a story worthy of a show adaptation
It’s gonna be difficult for me cause that cast is iconic. Rosie O Donnell, Tom Hanks, Madonna, Geena Davis. It was basically the perfect cast if there ever was one.
Idk. I LOVE the OG movie. The cast is absolutely iconic. Geena Davis and Tom Hanks steel the show. This cast doesn’t jump out to me the way that one did. A lot of unknowns here from the looks of it. We’ll see. Personally, I’d rather them do original stories rather than just constantly redoing classics. The only reason is that I’ve hardly ever seen a adaptation/update be good and certainly not better than the OG. If you can’t do it better…then why bother? Idk…maybe this will prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
Apparently there really *is* crying in baseball.
Damn that’s a good cast
Orange is the New Balk
broad city reunion! abbi(abbi jacobson)/gemma(d’arcy carden). yaas
What’s all this then?
but why?
This looks cute, love the film and Abbi Jacobson so happy to give this a shotn
Loved the movie can’t wait to see what they do with this.
I see Nick Offerman and I’m instantly in.
This looks… really fuckin’ good, actually.

Meh. Remake make bad movies not good ones

Well that was pretty clearly a dude that did the stunt jumping on the train.
Ok already working black characters in. I get it. It’s 2022 so there has to be no matter what era they are covering.
Wonder if there will be lots of stories about the hidden lesbians who had to stay closeted and will there be any cross dressing or trans characters?

Whyyyyyyyyy
I’m so excited!
frantically digging for whatever feminist idea left in the scrapyard huh? hope the stock is depleting fast, things are getting ridiculous
No pissing scene no deal.
