These were so common when I was a kid. Don’t really see them anymore.
I see you’ve never owned a toddler. They have a habit of running away.
Ya, they are wonderful. Keeps little ones from running into traffic, keeps them a safe distance to you but still allows them a little freedom. Less likely for you to lose them in a crowd of people. Highly recommend.
I work at an aquarium and our guest are mainly familys with little kids and i think more kids should be on leashes
What’s wrong with that? I use one when we go to the airport or some other place that’s extremely crowded.
Not because I can’t control my kid but because sick little fucks can’t control themselves and like to run up and snatch people’s kids and run away.
I see it more as a wallet chain protecting my valuables then a harness restricting my kid
Had one on my 2.5 y.o. on a trip to Ireland while visiting a few castles. A very warranted extra layer of protection. It only takes two steps and they can be off a walkway or falling through an open window…well worth it imo.
Some kids need more than a damn leash
We have a 1 year old. The little guy hates being held and want down to walk or run and has no problem darting off to chase after something. He’s 18 months old, he wants to explore. Very age appropriate. We don’t have a kid leash, however if they where widely accepted, we’d definitely have one.
These were all the rage back in the 90’s!

My daughter as a toddler was adorable with a mop of curly blond ringlets. I was scared to death someone would snatch her. She wore a leash when she started walking for about a year till I could trust that she wouldn’t wander off by herself.
That’s a good mom. Knows where her kid is.
Not uncommon. My sister would pull away from our mom and do things like run into the street or into a store and try to hide. My mom got stares because of the leash but unless you know the situation, don’t judge. (My sister became a wonderful, kind, loving, adult and a great daughter and sister.)
I own one for my youngest. I wish I wouldn’t have listened to stupid negative comments relating my child to a pet and used it with my older child. It is an absolute life saver. You never have to worry if they are going to run off, someone pick them up or anything I also like the thought Many are made into a backpack so the child also gets to carry their own toy or stuff and they feel like they are helping. It’s great and you are a horrible person if you down someone for doing what they feel is best to keep their child safe
I remember seeing a pic of me in a park, tethered to my mother. I was a fast crawler so it probably saved my life a few times, but it was a bit of a shock.
It is all cultural. Before covid, people from asia have been wearing masks against air pollution. As a result, they never had a hard time wearing it during the start of pandemic .
Beats a kid coffin.
Welcome to the planet, OP. I think you’ll enjoy the weather.
That’s a very good idea. I had one with all 4 of my kids. It gives them freedom to walk a little on their own and their little arms don’t get tired from holding them up in the air to hold a sweaty adult hand. Genius!
These should be for kids 12-16 as well ;p
Having raised many kids, and working with the public all my life, it’s my firm belief these need to be mandatory by law.
If you can’t, or won’t control your hellspawn, then leash them in Public.
