Closed captioning is not AI. It is either speech recognition or an actual person typing as it goes. Reasonable to assume they forgot about captioning, then translating, German.

I find it odd that they are even singing the German national anthem at a sporting event. This is not something they do.

On a different note as an F1 fan I’ve heard the music for this anthem a lot (more times than I would’ve liked. Forza Ferrari!), but never the words. So that was cool.

If I went to an International “*soccor*” game, I’d sit and be silent during the other teams anthem. Standing for someone else’s just feels disingenuous, and makes and makes the bit were you stand for your own feel disingenuous too
* Not to mention the other things like that forcing people to stand for an anthem goes against freedom of speech. And that the NFL has a weird love for the military that we don’t in nations outside the USA. English football doesn’t have a military parade and a jet fly over, even at International level (thank god)
