A horrible howler by Illan Meslier gifts Arsenal an early opener, as Eddie Nketiah chases down a big gap to nick the ball off the young goalkeeper’s boot inside the six-yard box and turns it into the empty net.

That was beautiful to behold. Smart play from the forward.
I still don’t understand modern football insists on building from back. Its great but it needs experienced footballers esp goalkeeper who are comfortable in using the feet to distribute. Having said that, if there is a danger lurking then better to kick it out long or out of play is smart football even if your team is playing building from back. Not smart here.
Couldn’t he have just grabbed it there using his hands?
Not entirely Meslier’s fault, right? I mean, yes, he defo should’ve dealt with it better, but that was a horrible pass to begin with.
Nothing wrong with the pass, keeper just fked up.
This is Nketiah’s 4th goal from pressuring the goalie into making a mistake…
He is a poor team’s Benzema
I love Nketiah so much. hope he stays at Arsenal
It really is incredible how often this happens. You would think this would stop being a good strategy
Eddie is a fucking killer. Sniffes a drop of GK blood 6 pitches away.
It took longer to read the title than to watch the gif
What’s a howler? Never heard this term except for when referring to a dog.
If that post title were any more British, it would actually smell like fish and chips and probably oppress the Irish in some way.
Why is he not celebrating? Fuck this trend. Leeds barely played him when he was there, he should have turned round and taunted all their fans in that corner.
Coming from a pressure game like AFL (Australian Rules Football) I’m always in awe at the lack of pressure applied in top level Football.
I understand numbers are super important and it’s committing to a contest that can take you out of the play but a lot of it just looks like laziness.
He’s a regular Zack Steffen
