I only expect two things from this film: for them to have a Peking Duck instead of turkey for Christmas Dinner, and for the leg lamp to make a reappearance. I don’t have high hopes for this film, but I plan to enjoy to references they’ll make.
I’ll ride the nostalgia train heavy on this one. Regardless, I think this looks like a fun, sweet movie and doesn’t seem like it’s trying too hard. Very much looking forward to this.
So, when “A Christmas Story” originally came out, I almost did not go to see it. The ads made it look like a very cynical, slapstick movie. They focused on the bully chasing scene, the Santa scene, etc. Like everyone was just being mean to Raphie. I saw [some reviews](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmdqkFCUQcc) that convinced me otherwise, and I saw it when it went to the low cost theaters, and of course I loved it.
It looks like this will be true to the original, maybe a little cheesy, but I will certainly see it.
I’m ready for Christmas and excited for all the new Christmas movies coming out this year. I was never a huge Christmas Story fan, but I think the nostalgia factor on this will hit a lot different for me. fingers crossed.
Huh, didn’t think I would be excited about a Christmas movie in 2022. I didn’t have high expectations from this movie when it was announced, but now I’m actually looking forward to it.
It’s interesting that they chose to focus on adult Ralphie instead of one of his kids. The original was about the wonder of Christmas-time as experienced by children. I guess they just didn’t want to do the same movie again updated by a few decades.
Well I’m usually one to roll my eyes at these legasequels but gotta say this one looks pretty fun and full of that Christmas spirit. I’ll check it out for sure
Cautiously optimistic. On one hand I could see all the old chestnuts being dusted off where he and his kids are going through the same bits that made this movie so great for me as a kid. On the other hand, This is Peter Billingsly’s project. This is a guy who is friends with a lot of talented people. I don’t think Jon Favreau would allow him to make something shitty.
As compared to a lot of the awful sequels/spinoffs this franchise has got…yes, I said franchise, ugh…this looks pretty good.
I think its laid back approach might make this a winner.
A fun bit of nostalgia.
Did they CGI Ralphie’s eyes? They’re cutting into my soul.
Shoot the nostalgia directly into my jugular.

Has a sequel that just rehashes jokes from and makes references to the original ever been memorable?
Zoolander 2, Anchorman 2, Dumb and Dumber To, Vacation, Coming To America 2, and Bill and Ted 3 all come to mind.
Check the trailer threads for those. Comments are very similar to these.
Another comedy sequel that I’d like to be good but I’m not counting on it

No Melinda Dillon? She’s still alive…
I think it’s cool that they got Peter Billingsly back in this role – Looks like a lot of the old child cast is back, also.
I was smiling through that whole preview like a chump. Usually I’m cynical af about these kind of rehashes, but, I’m all the way in.
They put the names Flick and Schwartz with the wrong actors.
Where’s the little brother?? Is he the one in the hat at the end??
Looking forward to it. A Christmas Story is my fav Christmas movie.

A Blatz Christmas Star? I’m sold.

It doesn’t have to be a good movie to be a good *Christmas* movie. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
How long before someone recuts this to have the audio from the Joker trailer?

Actually looks decent and probably will be a ton of references to the old movie

Are we sure this isn’t a Happy Madison Production? Definitely getting that vibe. First Grown Ups was dumb fun, so I am all for it.

Pretty psyched to see Zack Ward is going to be in this too, it was hilarious when he shown up in one of the Postal 2 DLC’s.
This looks surprisingly better than what I was expecting. I like that it’s set in the 70s back when every toy was trying to kill you.
2 things: 1. I pray that his parent upgraded the heating and electrical. 2. Schwartz’s life was never the same after the beating.
