Christopher Walken did an incredible job being cold and callous in this film. After I watched yesterday I read that Bruce Johnston Sr. (Brad Sr.) killed his son Jimmy (Tommy). He shot him in the jaw then in the head and buried him while still breathing. He bragged and laughed about it while at breakfast the next day.
People thought the young men were hiding out until the heat died down not knowing they had been murdered. Jimmy’s Aunt told Bruce Sr. to make sure Jimmy was eating good and Bruce Sr. said where he’s at he don’t need to eat. Later the Aunt and Bruce Sr. saw each other at a diner and as Bruce Sr. left he played only the good die young on the jukebox.

Such an overlooked movie. Chris Walken is absolutely terrifying in it. It’s just depressing to read about how the Johnston gang was even worse in real life.
Watching that with absolutely zero context was an absolute trip. Why he talking ’bout coyotes, and why he shoot his kid?
Is this a good movie? All I know about it is that Madonna had a song on the soundtrack – Live to Tell. The music video is absolutely horrible and it looks like a horrible film from the video. Is this film worth checking out?
