im thinking of picking one up for my elite series 2. i dont wanna put down my controller when im gaming just to access the console or something. i had one for my 360 and it was great for when i ddint have a mic or couldnt use it for one reason or another
The girl I was dating at the time had one, I thought it was a dumb idea at first. Was pleasantly surprised at how well that thing actually worked. And the weight was actually kind of nice?
To be fair, it looks wild to some of us but people that were used to Blackberry-esque keyboards were often *really* good on them, like no-look novel typing shit. My cousin just came across his old phone a couple months back when I was helping him move out and the muscle memory was still completely there.
Bruh, By the time I called someone garbage or said gg some mf would have had an entire paragraph ready about how trash someone was using the bible of racial slurs
Useless these days as sending any swear word or slight insult can get you banned immediately. The most you will ever need to send someone today is ‘gg’.
i texted so much shit on this when i didn’t have a microphone! also was great for typing passwords when i would jump boxes and didnt have my flash drive with profile on it and when i was using it on my pc. i traded someone 4 ramen noodles and 2 iced out honey buns for it. sadly it broke and wouldn’t connect to the controller after about 5 years of heavy use
My guess, voice chat and the mic was included with the 360.
There was also no crossplay so I don’t know why someone would use it beyond; lol, look how fast I can send messages to strangers/friends.
I loved the chat pad
I mean, you can still get those for the new Xbox. It’s just easier to talk shit on the mic rather than type it out, I guess.
I loved this thing
Dude made sending “I fucked your mom” to someone easier than scrolling through the virtual keyboard.
‘360 no scope your mom’ on OG modern warfare. Those were the days.
This thing was a life saver for when you got the 3 x 800 microsoft points packs
I used to play ff11 on my xbox360, this thing had it’s work cut out for it.
I always had one
These where useful on the ps3. Xbox 360 had a great party chat system

why type when I could yell into a mic on how I fucked their mom

Plus if I remember correct you could send voice messages, instead of typing out messages on live.
That thing was a beast when flaming someone over messages
I had this exact keyboard for my 360 controller
Actually felt good in my hands and was very useful
Could respond back real fast to all the losers who said they fked my mom
And I thought the jaguar controller was busy.
I’m a proud chat pad owner:)
I’m surprised too, and I didn’t even own an Xbox. I feel this way about the Dreamcast VMU. Such a great idea that never really caught on.

I miss these keyboards on cellphones.
I had one for my ps3
They still sell them, I have one on my elite series 2 controller.

Gotta type “ima duck your mother” faster than the other guy
This fucking thing caused my batteries to go likely 40% faster I swear, maybe it was just me

I used this a lot for talking to people on msn messenger while playing games.
I still use a chat pad on my controller for games like elite dangerous.

They still sell them. Incredibly hard to find and a little on the expensive side.
Honestly, if the keyboard flipped back into the back or something, I’d want one
I had one, but my I,F,U,C,K,E,D,R,M,O letters all wore out.
I still have my Xbox One Chst Pad, and yes is does fit and work on Series X controllers.
The little bit of extra weight it had also was great. Made the controller feel stronger.

I want that for my phone… I’m sick of touchscreen keypads
Because the center button is obvious already. You don’t need a sticker pointing at it.
That’s what we’re talking about, right?
I fucking loved this. Kept me in touch with so many friends without high effort dpad typing. Best investment for my 360 I ever made.
They felt so good too, controllers without them felt off afterward.
**When you say ‘gg ez’ and this dude starts writing a chapter of Harry Potter.**
The n,i,g,r,e letters are always worn out when i see one of these
FFXI man… between this and the Logitech half size keyboard with controllers on each side for the PS2 it was amazing playing FFXI on both systems.
Ahhh the shit talker 9000. It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of these
