This is the official poster for the movie, the previous ones were promo art.
>After surviving a heart attack, Randal Graves decides to make a movie with Dante Hicks about their lives at the Quick Stop convenience store.
Cast:
* Brian O’Halloran as Dante Hicks
* Jeff Anderson as Randal Graves
* Marilyn Ghigliotti as Veronica Loughran
* Rosario Dawson as Becky Scott
* Trevor Fehrman as Elias Grover
* Jason Mewes as Jay
* Kevin Smith as Silent Bob
I know Kevin Smith doesn’t have the best track record in the world, but I loved the View Askewniverse when I was younger, so I’m definitely seeing this movie regardless of quality. It’s gonna be like seeing an old friend for the last time.
The amount on the cash register is 37 cents. 37 is also the number of dicks Dante’s girlfriend Veronica had sucked including him at the time. Not sure the current number.
I know people have soured on Kevin Smith and I have as well to a degree. I think I made it about 10 minutes in to Yoga Hosers before checking out but Clerks and Clerks II are such important movies to me. I’ve made the pilgramage to NJ to go to the actual Quick Stop. I’m really looking forward to this and I hope it delivers.
You know what I’m too old for? These overly photoshopped posters on everything. First it was Marvel movies and now it’s CLERKS? They look they were rendered in Unreal for fucks sake.
I feel sadness because I just don’t care about Kevin Smith’s work anymore. I think I lost the old love sometime after the Clerks cartoon, and it degraded over the years.
EDIT: Some background for you. I was a huge KS fan for a long time. I loved Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy. I went to Vulgarthons in Red Bank and talked to Walt Flanigan at the Secret Stash, I met KS at conventions, and I was even an extra in his “Flying Car” sketch for Jay Leno (at least part of my car was there).
I still think KS is a pretty genuine, accessible filmmaker. And I don’t even mind that his wife and kid are in the movies; the whole Askewniverse is a club of friends and family. But his later movies just… lost substance. They became self-referential fart jokes that I didn’t like anymore.
The whole idea of this film just seems sad. Like visiting a childhood friend in your hometown and realizing that his ability to belch the national anthem isn’t really a talent and that even his parents probably call him a loser behind his back.
In theaters this Fall

I hope Scott Moiser is involved.
This poster smells like popcorn
Can’t believe he got it made. I thought that one of the two main actors was dead set against it.
Strange choice to replace Dante and Randall with CGI characters on the poster

I wonder what Randall will think of the Star Wars Sequels…
I bet Dante gets shot to death at the end.
Hopefully this is okay but I have zero faith in Kevin smith anymore. All his recent stuff has suck major balls

I met Dante (Brian) at a small comic con years ago. Dude was miserable. Really doesn’t act, he just plays himself.

That’s a shit ton of airbrushing photoshop
Well this is one movie Kevin Smith knows how to make.
Oh yeah, I guess the video rental place wouldn’t exist anymore.
The cigarette brand. NAILS. nice.
If this means more Rosario Dawson I’m all in.
10 years to green light, 10 days to write it, 10 hours to film. Kevin Smith has got this down to a science.
Please don’t suck. Please don’t suck. Please don’t suck.
Dang… I was hoping for Kinky Kelly and the Sexy Stud front and center
My love for you is like ticking clock… BERSERKER
Great fucking poster and I work at a movie theater. I will be taking a poster as soon as I can
