In the US you can get 1/4 of a watermelon cubed in a container for $7
Wow a watermelon is like 8 where I live
Wow. Those mangos alone would be $10 CAD or close to it where I live in eastern Canada🥲
And bananas are like,…10$.
Pack it up fam. We’re moving.

Pineapple Centipede
I have never in my life seen a net full of pineapples.
I have to say I am a tad envious.
One mango is around $6 at my grocery store 😢😢😢
What are the yellow fruits in the picture, in the bowl and in the net?
That’s like $100 worth of fruit in Australia
I’m curious to see other countries’ picture of $10 worth of local fruit and then the equivalent of an imported fruit.
Cos $10 would buy a mound of local fruit for mine but maybe 2 avocados
How much does the average person make in dollars, though?
And it tastes way better than what we are getting in the US as well.
That’s about $80CDN at Sobyes…
Hey its me your cousin can you send me $10 worth of fruit
10 dollars is about 800 in Indian rupees. I bet you can buy all this in about 500 rupees here. Watermelon is about 30rs kg. Pineapple about 50 per pc mango about 70/kg
Was just at the bazar in Ankara. Peaches were 20TL/kilo. That’s about $1.17. Tomatoes were 15TL/kilo. Most produce in the bazar ranged from 12TL to 30TL per kilo. I really didn’t pay attention because I usaually pay about $5/lb for tomatoes at home. It’s only the foreign stuff like kiwi, avocado, and limes that approach US prices.
$10 for the paper towels where I live.
Studies show that eating starfruit can have a harmful (toxic) effect for people who have kidney disease. The substances found in starfruit can affect the brain and cause neurological disorders.
This toxic substance is called a neurotoxin. People with healthy, normal kidneys can process and pass this toxin out from their body. However, for those with kidney disease, this is not possible. The toxin stays in the body and causes serious illness.

Everybody is like “wow! How cheap!” While I’m thinking, “now adjust for the local wages”
That’s more than one banana.

How many hours of work is $10 in Ecuador?
somewhere in LA someone is paying $8 for a cup of street sliced fruit.
$10 for the average Ecuadorian is also about $70 for the average U.S citizen when you take a look at salaries
Every time I see a post like this, I wonder to myself if anyone thinks about translation of the price to the average consumer of each country. Seeing as how OP posted in USD, we will use that as the base here:
Ecuador:
Per Month average income: 1360
US:
Per Month average income: 4148 (I did find a 5857 but I went with the lower one)
US makes about 3x an average Ecuadorian income. So, if this cost them $10, this should translate to spending around $30 to them. Honestly not a bad deal for it considering they literally live in a tropical country where this is more available.
I will breakdown price of the fruit in USD the best I can from sites that have store prices:
1.78 per Pineapple x4 : 7.12
.88 per pound of Mango (Est 5 pounds): 4.40
.23 per pound of Banana (Est 4 pounds): .92
3.93 per bag Small Mango x3: 11.79
4.48 per Watermelon: 4.48
Exotic fruits to US (had to find other sites):
7 per pound of Starfruit (Est 2 pounds): 14.00
Total: 42.71
Considering some exotic fruit here would push those prices up but locally, it might be much cheaper. I am not local to Southern Florida where some of these may be available to see. But I think you get the idea.

What could a banana cost, 10 dollars?
I mean how much could a banana cost… $10?
