I checked out the Trailer for this and I’ll admit, I am looking forward to checking this out as a big sports fan interested in Front Office stuff.
It has the potential to be a pretty good film for Netflix standards. The casting seems solid and the premise of the film is interesting, especially for sports fans that are into the inner workings of the game.
I’m assuming that LeBron was Producer on this for the NBA and Player Development side of things in the plot construction and overall accuracy, plus his connections for licensing and player related stuff. That’s totally fine, dude clearly knows his stuff in that department.
He’s just not a great actor unless you give him really stupid lines that are funny that you wouldn’t expect coming from someone like him, kind of the John Cena effect, except John Cena can actually act relatively decent. I can only think of that one film with Bill Hader where he shot a funny scene with LeBron. Everything else LeBron has done so far has basically been like he’s a stiff robot.
It’s not going to be an Oscar movie by any means, but this could be one of Sandler’s better films in a good while. I’m not writing it off until I see it for sure.
It’s definitely not Jack & Jill at least.

Adam Sandler movies aren’t exactly a Quentin Tarantino Epic, nor are they meant to be a Christopher Nolan mind-bending experience.
Adam Sandler movies, on average, are just fun and dumb entertainment. I loved Hubie Halloween because honestly, as cringe as it is, it reminds me of better times. and I’m happy that movies like that are still being made.
After the thrilling cinematic feat known as ‘Space Jam 2’, I am shaking with anticipation for the followup project by movie magician LeBron James.

Before people write this off as another shitty Sandler movie for Netflix this is actually Directed by Jeremiah Zagar who directed the breakout indie “We The Animals” a few years ago. So this isn’t going to be a typical Happy Madison production.
I’m glad Sandler seems to be gunning to make more dramatic stuff now that can actually push him as an actor with this, the Space movie he’s doing directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl) and his next collaboration with the Safdie bros.
Trailer for this actually looked pretty dope. I know Sandler has made some garbage for Netflix but this looks passable at worst.
Seeing LeBron attached to this reduces my interest in it.

I don’t know anything about this film but I’m hoping it’s quite serious because Sandlers performance in Uncut Gems was absolutely insane.
I’m a basketball fan (Go Raps!) so I’ll certainly be watching this. I can also always appreciate Sandler in more dramatic roles.
