Making my attempt at an Atlantic Giant myself this year. Seed packet of 25 cost $8, with shipping.
Germination started April 29 and already have it in a recycled 1 gallon draining pot using what was left of my potting soil. Plant is already 5 inches tall. Gets planted next weekend outside.
No crazy set up or anything. Straight to soil and then just going to make sure only 1 pumpkin grows from the plant by plucking any extras early.
These are expected to average several hundred pounds. We’ll see how big Charlie Brown gets by end of the growing season.
Damn that plant absolutely exploded. I assume they make the pumpkin this big by removing all other pumpkins from the plant? Pretty neat to see such a monster pumpkin come from a small seed.
How much does it cost to grow one of these monsters!?
