Battlefield 2 was the best large-scale FPS shooter of its era and to this day it still is a great example of a well made multiplayer teamwork-oriented game. Only Battlefield 3 did what Battlefield 2 did. Do you agree?

BF2BC and BF3 were the last good online multiplayer shooters in my opinion. Fast paced, well balanced, squad/team cooperative goal oriented gameplay _encouraged_ and rewarded. Good times.
Before them it was the original Starseige Tribes 1&2
Why did Battlefield dumb down the environment destruction? BFBC2 was the best
Then yes, these days you need to play something like Hell Let Loose for that.
