Leave no trace
Leave no trace..
there are people who will hate you for this
I hate it. It’s the equivalent of whistling. Nobody asked for it, but thrust it on the world anyways.
People who do these crappy rock stacking are the worst
They ruin the natural beauty of nature and then try to xonvince themselves and others they’re artsy for stacking rocks
God people like you ruin parks
These unoriginal crappy rock stackings are the equivalent to noise and light pollution.
Leave no trace. Some parks depts put these up as trail markers, the people who do it for fun really screw things up for everything.
just stop.
Stop… just stop
It’s not so much the selfish need to let everyone else know that you were there and ruin the natural feeling of an area (like scratching “Jacob was here” in a tree), it’s the intentional destruction of the habitat and breeding grounds of sensitive native species. There are laws about disturbing the stream beds used by some species for breeding. Rock stacking is believed to have been a major contributor to the rapid decline in the hellbender population. Due to the popularity of the activity, many more people were traveling to previously rarely seen streams and taking pictures of their stacked rocks. It doesn’t matter if you put them back or not, the damage is done in disturbing and moving them.
Nobody is impressed by your in inconsiderate and selfish “look at me” rock stacks. Buy some rocks and do it at home or make them in public as an art display, but interfering with others’ enjoyment of nature and damaging sensitive species is not acceptable.
Leave no trace. Nobody wants to see this!
I see this as equivalent to graffiti, it just says “I was here.”
Heard its frown upon to do that from an ecologist not sure why tough.
When you’re done playing please put mother nature’s rocks back where you found them.
Stop doing this shit to be trendy.
Leave nature as you found it no one cares about your rock stacks
You literally spent your time stacking rocks and all you accomplished was fucking with native stream populations habitat. This some simple Jack shit
I go out of my way to knock these down every time I see them.
Stop stacking the god damn rocks
TIL that rock stacking is a bad thing. Never done it, but also never thought it could possibly be damaging to the environment.. Good to know!
PS – Leave no trace isn’t enough these days. I try to bring at least 1-2 pieces of garbage out with me.
Honest work is hauling trash. Stacking rocks is sniffing ass.
Lol. That backfired!
In Colorado, the parks service spends a significant amount of money to remove the THOUSANDS of these fucking things people put in delicate ecosystems in streams and on top of mountains. Just stop.
Fuck rock stacks and the people who build them.
Rock stacks are ecological disruptive but this one looks like an animal death trap

BOO THIS MAN
graffiti
God people die on the most stupid of hills. Let the man stack rocks. Half you fucks don’t actively protest the factories that are destroying our world while you consume the devices they made from the ruins of nature. The other half just wants to feel superior to this man who stacks rocks because if you didn’t you’d have to acknowledge your own insecurities.
HOW FUCKING DARE YOU STACK THESE ROCKS YOU ECOSYSTEM KILLER!
Brb, need to grab a fresh plastic bottle of soda in my low-energy efficient house and some cookies made from cocoa planted in chopped amazon forests, so that I can more comfortably chastise you from a device made in a third world country with no emission norms and likely slave labor.
AS I WAS SAYING, HAVE YOU NO SHAME…
