One of the thing people don’t realize when being a musician and/or starting a band is that people expect you to be that person forever.
Being Papa Roach must be fucking exhausting.
Best thing to do is set yourself up like James Taylor. Be mellow, set a precedent early on in your career by sitting on a stool on stage.
Then, when you’re 80, and still want to perform not much has changed and you can still do it.
Didn’t know Shakey’s Pizza was still a thing. There used to be one near me as a kid, but it’s been gone since at least the early 80s. It was a Roy Rogers for a while, also long gone, and is currently an Arby’s.
What the fuck is up Shakey’s!?
Big props to the sound guy
Such a missed opportunity to sing the cut my life into pizzas version of the song.
Let me know when Creed plays Shakey’s please.
They still tear the roof off!
most ridiculous shit ever. i love it
It blows my mind every time I see Papa Roach in the world. I went to highschool with those guys and I keep forgetting that they aren’t “That shitty local band from Vacaville” anymore.
I’m just shocked that there are still Shakey’s Pizzas in existence
Vice did a “Story of” documentary on Last Resort which is pretty entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO7Xb-OvQXA
I was saying to myself how it’s amazing that mic is still plugged in after being on the ground in that mosh pit. Aaand then it cuts out 😂
Immediately ready to throw Muska’s backpack on and Christ Air all over that pit
We shit on bands for selling out and then shit on them for continuing to make music when it’s not as popular as it once was.
What’s crazy is that if this was 20 years ago 15,000 people would have tried to get inside to see these guys.
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to was Alien Ant Farm in an old tiny theater in my home town. (used to be the cheap movie theater, beforehand was an actual stage theater)
Tiny venue, super out of place, maybe 40 people there.
I’m betting this show would have rivaled the fuck out of my favorite, and I’m not even a big fan of Papa Roach.
I saw them a few weeks ago in a large venue and they did this and it was awesome! I was so excited they played Blood Brothers because it’s my favorite song by them. Mustve been great seeing them at such a small show!
gotta be honest jacoby still sounds exactly like he did in the early 2000’s which is rare.
They actually sound decent
I love papa roach and always will. Saw them in Sac with their album release show. Fucking awesome show
This seems like a post meant to shame them. They sound good and are playing a small venue and not acting like douche bags about it. I see no issue here.
I’d fuck with that. I listened to the Infest album when I was mowing my yard. I had to go slow otherwise the CD player would skip. Always think of pushing a mower when I hear Last Resort.
I thought the band died though due to the singer falling into a jesus-hole or something.
They’re still good as hell. And kudos to whoever got that sound dialed in.
I couldn’t give AF about Papa Roach, but props to them for not only not thinking they’re too big to play at a Shakey’s, but also rocking the hell out of that pizza parlor. Good on you Papa Roach, good on ya.
Fuck it. Everyone looked like they were having a great time!
I’m not a big fan of papa roach, but damn, that looks super fun.
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIZZAS
Way less cringe than I was expecting. What a fucking showman. Great performance.
lmao what is xzibit doing there?
Man, I’ve been bedbound levels of depressed these last 2 days, but for some reason hearing the Blood Brothers opening riff just put the biggest smile on my face.
Damn was never a big Papa Roach fan but I would totally thrown down for this!
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP DENNYS
The vibe is real
Wow most of these singers from that time look so washed up and their voice is shit, this band seems like they kept their shit together. Looks like an amazing time in that pizza joint
I just wanna say, I met Jacoby Shaddix one time. The whole band came through a place I worked and he was the nicest human being possible. Let me preface this by saying I’m kind of snobby about the music I listen and never really gave “radio rock” the time of day, but the dude seriously blew my mind with how genuine he was. He asked me about my job and how I was doing in a way like he really gave a shit about getting to know me. It was incredible considering the number of people he probly meets on a daily basis. Always respect for Jacoby and all the papa roach crew after that.
Man, I love Papa Roach. I’m not even a huge fan of most of their songs, but they just seem like great people in the interviews I’ve watched.
Props to them for keeping the rap rock/rap pop/whatever music alive.
I expected this to be a sad washed-up band playing half-heartedly like most cases, but these guys are owning it. They rocked the fuck out of that Shakey’s Pizza.
