That’s an extremely specific demographic, I’d wager that the overwhelming majority of people who see this have never been to Hawaii
I was literally singing this earlier, and I’m 38.
They had to make videos like this in the 90s because car seats for kids were a new thing. It took some parents a while to get on board with them because “we didn’t use those seats when I was a kid.”
My dad was an early adopter. He invested in safety seats for me and my sister and he strapped us in properly, no matter how shitfaced he was.
Definitely going to be using seatbelts on my kids after this. Seems like the best thing to do.

I lived in California when this was airing and saw it there. Didn’t get to live in Hawaii till late 2012 and have never seen it there.
