It looks like a generic action movie but I like Iko Uwais so I will check it. Film’s director Roel Reine directed one of my favourite episodes of Black Sails. Also the guy who plays Young Jun in Warrior is in the film too, I like him in that show.
Some of those fighting bits actually looked pretty solid. Hopefully there’s plenty of that in the movie. Iko is a legend, so I’ll definitely check this out.
I love Iko Uwais’ films (even if they’re bad) so I’ll check it out, but the fighting choreography did not impress me in the trailer. It seemed a bit sluggish and rehearsed compared to his other films. I guess I’ll have to wait and see
This isn’t connected to Wu Assassins, is it?
The fight scenes look cool. Please no super powers like energy blasts and such. Just do plain brutal martial arts, that’s what we want.
FFS … did they purposefully slow down the one decent hand to hand fight scene in the trailer. That looks about half speed to the Raid fights.
I’m a huge fan of the dude from The Raid movies but this just looks stupid.
It does look a little generic, but it still fulfills my baseline equation:

Wu Assassins was a load of shit. This looks like a colossal waste of the talent involved.
The fight choreography looks very slow and soft. A long way from the quality we normally expect from Uwais.
So instead of them trying to avenge Uncle Six, Jenny has been killed off-screen in order to facilitate another revenge trip instead? Wow, that’s… really not what I wanted.
This looks terrible. So I’ll obviously watch it the day of release.

And nothing of value was lost. If I had to point out the worst characters in *Wu Assassins*, they’d easily be the Wah siblings.

Was this filmed in Mexico? Really going for that sepia/yellow tone.
That 360 degree spin camera-shot is really cool. A little showy, but it works for a movie like this.
