sorry for your loss, 13 years of love. looks like a good doggo
I’m sorry for you loss, they take a part of you with them!
Sorry for your loss. Our dogs are such a daily joy. I am sure he knew he was loved right up till the end. 💕
I’m sorry for your loss. 10/10 good puppy!
You didn’t age at all in that time either. You both look great. Sorry for having to go through that and I’m sure he remembers all the amazing times you two had 🙂
So sorry for your loss. My boy was 13 when I lost him too. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through. Time will help heal and eventually bring smiles instead of tears. Life’s worth living because without the lows you can’t have the highs. All the best.
I’m not crying!
Sending love, OP.
I’m sorry for your loss too, I know it’s a tough moment but your best friend had the best : love.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your best friend. They really are the best, aren’t they?
The sadness on your face made me teary. So sorry about your furbaby.
Sorry for your loss
13 great years for one incredibly sad day. I wish you the best.
I’m so sorry, what was his name?
My deepest condolences, the emotion in the final photo says everything.
You gave them an incredible life to live in, and they repaid in kind with unforgettable love and memories for you to hold onto forever.
What a lovely gesture, my condolences on your loss
i’m so sorry. we put down our sweet girl this week. 16 years of love. it’s brutal but she deserved to rest. we miss her.
Seems like your best friend had a best friend in you, who gave him lifelong unconditional love. I’m sure he felt that love every day. So sorry for your loss.
Sorry for the loss of your friend. I like that you still had the shirt.
So sorry for you loss. Very sweet photos and I’m sure great memories.
To you it was just 13 happy years, to him it was a happy lifetime.
Having pets is one of the biggest joys and biggest heartaches because you love them so much and know that you’re setting yourself up for heartbreak. My furry little soulmate was also 13 when I lost her but I wouldn’t trade the time for anything and I know I’ll see her again.
I’m sorry for your loss, it’s so obvious he was loved and loving something you know you’ll lose is one of the most selfless things we can do as human beings.
I’m sorry for your loss OP. Beautiful friend you’ve got there.
Goddamnit I’m so sorry for your loss.
Had to put my doggo down last year after almost 16 years.
She got me through the worst of my 20s and she she got to spend her last several years helping me raise my kids. Also a once in a lifetime pup. That’s why I got her paw print tattooed on me in the same spot she would always jump when I got home.
It sucks at first but it gets better. Just cherish the memories. That pup will be waiting for you on the rainbow Bridge.
😭 its beautiful, he’s beautiful, you’re beautiful… im crying
Milo the Magnificient!! What the beautifulest boi 🙂 your world is better for his company. That is the best gift and will always be with you.
His eyes, in 2nd photo… ❤️
Oh onions again! ..
Sorry for your loss, brother. This is still one of my biggest fears. Stay strong.
So saddened for your loss, I hope you never forget all the happy memories with them and find some comfort in that OP.
They don’t live very long but they are worth every minute
Pro tip- Go through all your jackets, seasonal wear, anything with pockets and remove the forgotten stale treats and dog bags. Finding them a few months later is no fun.
Lost both my big guys after 11 years in ’19 I’m still finding treats and hair. Your reminded me of mine as puppies. I’m sorry for you loss. Its never the same but it gets better.
Lost my best friend in January after 12 years together. My heart goes out to you, I get pangs every night when im going to bed, hurts so much and I know you’ll be feeling the same. Mine went in for a surgery to remove a mass that had appeared suddenly and grown quickly over a few weeks, the call to tell me to collect him a few hours later was instead one to inform me that he had a problem coming out of anesthesia and stopped breathing. I had no idea that it would be the last time I seen him when I dropped him off to the vet. The guilt I feel for leaving him there alone eats at me every day, he wanted nothing but to be by my side all the time. The anger I have and the scenarios of him needing me there and being scared at the end will haunt me.
Take comfort in knowing that getting to say goodbye and making that choice was the right thing, as hard as it may have been to do that, you being there was very meaningful.
The pain on your face is real. I hope your pup goes easily over the rainbow bridge.
giving my boy extra pets today 🥺
My boy was 13 to the day when we had to say goodbye. It still hurts my heart. My best friend is 8 going on 9 and the vet is now calling her geriatric cuz her breed usually only gets 10. Meanwhile we’re jumping 5 foot fences and running up and down trees in the forest.
Enjoy every moment. They don’t last long enough. RIP.
RIP to a good dog. Sorry for your loss.
oh no, sorry for your loss.
Man, this hurts, I can see the pain on your face in the bottom pic. This is one of those things where, if it were me, I might have buried the shirt with him as a sentimental gesture.
Several years back, we buried the cat my wife had for just shy of 19 years after we had to euthanize him, as he was in active kidney failure. She got him as a baby, and he was 7 when my wife and I met. He was a smart and loving cat. He quickly adopted me and began sleeping on top of both of us every night. We still miss him, 8+ years later, so yeah, they definitely take a piece of you with them.
It makes me so sad how fast time goes. What a good boy being a best friend and leaving lots of happy memories.
Sorry for the loss of the pooch. Valhalla has another good boy.
sorry for your loss, 13 years of love. looks like a good shirt
He looks like he had a good time. Good job. Keep your head up… I JUST got a new one last week. She fell into my lap not a replacement but we make each other just as happy.
Hey Phil, we actually know each other a little bit, and I really loved Milo so so much. I’m truly so sorry for your loss.
This is obviously based on a different situation than with your precious boy, but here is a comic I made about losing my childhood dog, Clancy almost a decade ago. I hope it can remind you that you’re not alone.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do for you.
This is how I come to terms with losing a best friend like a pet: You may have had them for a short while but to them you loved them their whole entire life. Imagine, in terms of humans, having someone be there for you every single day of your life helping and loving you. Focus on that. I wish I could explain this more eloquently but I hope you get the gist. I’m sorry
I try to post this in these sorts of threads, because there’s always someone whose dog is getting old, and they’re trying to make that hard decision
Hey, for all those of you who remember putting your pet down:
You’re not ‘putting them down’. You’re helping them let go.
The problem is that your dog refuses to let go. You need them, there they are. Always. And not just when you need them, but when you’re on the computer, or sitting on the couch. Your dog is there, because that’s what they do.
Dogs don’t know how to ask to be let go: It’s not in a dog’s nature to leave a man behind, so to speak. You gotta be the one to tell them it’s okay, and you’re not leaving.
You don’t put them down. You pay them back for all the love they’ve given you.
Just do me a favour, if you’re making that trip to the vet’s: Hold your dog’s paw when he’s gotta go. Don’t leave him in a room full of strangers because you’re scared. Help him go.

The fact doggos only live 20 years at most is proof there is no god.
