Apologies for the novel u may be reading ahead.
So I’ve been thinking for a long time “why haven’t we had any true zelda online games?”, and while we have at least tri force heros, wouldnt it be fun to have a multi-player experience somehow? Well… the other day, while playing halo MCC (of course), I thought, “why not this?!?”
So hear me out, like in MCC, we could have a game that has versions of big zelda games (first ones coming to mind would be oot, mm, ww, and tp) and you can just play those games one player style with minor things like achievements, scores, times, and such. But then how about we take the idea further! We could have altered versions of these games that allow us to play multi-player and work together to solve new puzzles and fight overhauled versions of bosses of the games making it more challenging and feel fresh! And going with this idea, we could have boss fight minigames or arenas that challenge not only one player players, but multi-player too.
To add more competition for online match potential, we could have a hack and slash/magic style muliplayer death match as well, expanding on this idea as well, we could choose from multiple characters from different generations of link’s, Ganon’s, impa’s, ext. (A lot like hyrule warrior’s, only more like traditional zelda games) ~I understand this particular idea is a stretch, but it could be interesting at least~
So final idea before I hear your ideas and debates, “how could this fit in the timeline or even work in the storys?” Well, I know the muliverse idea is over used or at least lots of peeps r tired of it atm, but it could be a muliverse thing where it is combining all these timelines together with some kind of villan breaching it and trying to end the loop, which causes villans and heros of all the generations and universes to work together to fix it.
But what do you all think? Any other ideas? Is this dumb and should just be in a bin? I wanna discuss, especially since there may be some kind of official zelda announcement soon! Now would be a fun time to talk! ❤️

I wouldn’t want to see multiplayer “added” to classics. If they’re going to make a multiplayer Zelda, it needs to be designed from the ground up for multiplayer. That’s what 4 Swords and Triforce Heroes are: Zelda games built for multiplayer.
IF they’re going to make a new game in the style of the classics, or even in BotW/TotK style, it’d be a neat concept to have one player play as Link, and the other(s) play as one of 4 options: Zelda (mage/support), Shiek (stealth) a new Shiekah character that would blend Zelda and Shiek’s play styles, but not be as good as the other two, and a new Hylian knight character who would be similar to Link to start with, but couldn’t use the Master Sword. You could even make something like that drop-in/out like Gotham Knights, with true RPG-style progression.
This is such an interesting idea. I would 100% buy it.
Never going to happen. Nintendo remakes all as single games and you pay the full price for all of them.
You can play multiplayer on some Zelda games through emulation, Breath of The Wild for example.
Nut in any case, Nintendo would rather sell you the roms of the original ones to emulate on their latest console.
Don’t…don’t give me hope…
I’d settle for WW and Twilight HD together.
Most likely, they’d release a 3D All-Stars type game. A MCC style wouldn’t be profitable for Nintendo unless they already had most of the remakes done.
Which, granted, they have several done already.
