Gary Sinise is a national treasure.
I saw the picture and had to go look at the poster since it didn’t start of with the customary “Gary Sinise here…”
I met plenty of the veterans he brought to the WWII museum when I lived in NO, but never was lucky enough to thank him for doing that in person.
Why don’t we get to vote for people like this?
I met him in Coney Island about 15 years ago. (I was a young kid at the time) and had just seen Forrest Gump. He was so kind and generous with his time.
Why can’t we have more awesome famous people?
Why do they all have to be fucking assholes with extreme egos. Feels like for every Sinise we get, we have to deal with 10 Kanyes/Musks.
I had the pleasure of working this event in late 2018/early 2019. Those were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. My water park had closed due to weather that day so they gave me the option to deploy over to DAK as a guide. Basically I stood outside in the ~40* weather very cold with a flashlight to point people towards the closest bathroom. These people, who have gone through so much, were some of the humblest and nicest people I’ve ever met. I think every single one of them thanks Lee us for being there that night. Absolute class.

My husband met him while he was active duty. He did a concert and my husband hung back to help clean up at the end. He stayed and talked to my husband for a good bit and I’ve heard the story about 5 billion times. He’s a really nice guy lol
I like that people are genuinely happy

Had the pleasure of serving him and his family at a restaurant on Mother’s Day a few years ago. I will never forget the grace and kindness they showed me on an extremely long and stressful day. Gary is a national treasure and it’s so nice to see him still out there helping others

I miss working the Skyball event every year that funds this, and even some of the earlier snowball events before they could afford Disney. His band always kicked ass, and we got to make some really cool setups for the event.
My dad was friends with his sister in high school. I’m from the same hometown as him, too.

I was flying American Airlines on Saturday morning and had some people on my flight going to this! The Savannah airport had a Santa at 6am and a nice little spread for them and they made it special and announced them on the speaker. I got all teary eyed! Then there was a grinch costume and even more decorations at the Charlotte airport where they were getting on the flight together to Disney ❤️ Gary Sinise is a gem!
ETA: they really put in a lot of effort to make this special for the families. I could see it being super tacky and half hearted coming from an airline but it seemed nice! They’ve been doing this for many years, can’t remember how long.
I’m surprised Gary Sinise has never played Al Gore in anything before.
