I’m one of the old-timers around here and I remember back in the GTA Vice City days, imagining what games would be like in 20 years or more. My idea was something even bigger than what we’ll have with GTA VI, something even more immersive, maybe a full integration of virtual reality, something along those lines. We were pretty sure that in 20 years, games would be indistinguishable from movies. Any other old-timers around here remember their projections from back then?
I wasn’t expecting to be completely unhyped by this game, but I am. I was watching the trailer, expecting to get excited, but knowing beforehand that the game isn’t out until 2025 (before any delays, of which there will be many), I just felt meh about it.
Don’t release trailers over a year ahead of time.
If the release was in December my mind would’ve blown, if it was set to release in q1-2 of 2024, I’d be excited, but 2025? Fuck off.
looks the same to me /s
we’ve come far
Looking forward to gameplay vs first trailer videos…
Brings back memories
dont leave us hanging , tell us which one is which
The most impressive city I’ve experienced in a game is Night City from Cyberpunk, but I imagine this will top it
Looks exactly the same
Vice city takes place in the 80s, there’s been a lot of development in Miami since then
I hope they have a radio station with all the vice city songs!
Just let me mow down beach goers in my car while listening to Billie Jean in GTA VI and i’ll be a happy man rockstar.
Good old ocean view, look how good you look now
Crazy what 20+ years can do to technology
I’m gonna be the guy, Vice City released in 2002 not 03
Not gonna lie. Can’t wait to drive down that beach getting my wanted level up.
Not a good comparison. The still from Vice City is based on Ocean Drive. The still from VI is the strip of hotels north of there.
Back then we were like DAMN THIS LOOKS REAL…and today its WOW, THIS LOOKS LIKE REALITY.
The picture is not from the future
They need to bring back a classic station.
The bottom is how the top felt for me. PAUSE
Vice City is still an incredible game
GTA VI(ce) city
I am so excited. It is depressing how far away it is. Especially for pc players.

Hopefully they implement some arcade machine where you can play the lovely remote helicopter mission again
Nice to see the city looks like it had good development in 22 years!
Could you reduce the resolution a bit more? It’s not quite stamp-sized enough yet for a good comparison.
This is the first game that really makes me feel like we are in the next generation and the 9th gen are almost 3 years old.
Out of touch by Hall and Oates starts playing intensely
Here is google maps of the same place. https://www.google.com/maps/@25.7886892,-80.1252753,82a,35y,272.44h,78.02t/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu
Same picture
they’re the same picture.
Where’s Driv3r?
gentrified
It would be cool for gta 6 graphics on low to look like vice city
I will pay whatever they ask for this game!
If I could forward time
The top one is VI. I heard it supposed to be set during the Covid lockdowns.
Bigger
I feel like im going crazy but RDR2 looks better than GTA6.

embrace yourselves.. the GTA VI karma farmers are already here
*listens to Wave 105 while cruising around on Infernus*
The bottom one is how I remember my time in Vice City all those years ago.
Nah, I’d be more impressed if you could enter at least three of those buildings.
