I remember seeing this in the theater and being captivated by the acting all around. I think it was the moment where he makes that initial hurtful comment to Helen Hunt’s character where I was completely along for the ride. A great film that should not be missed.
Man, this deserves a rewatch!
“How do you write women so well?”
“I think of a man, and then I take away reason and accountability.”
“…”
Not sure about the under 30 thing. I watched this at the time but my wife only watched this 2 years ago (just under 30 at the time) and it’s one of her favourite movies now. I think a classic and out of the zone acting can transcend generations
What a completely idiotic statement. Keep jerking yourself off, I guess. Yea, no one *understands*
As if no one has ever heard of that obscure indie actor fucking Jack Nicholson
The ” ..be a better man. ” line is even better in context of the two or three preceeding lines that are cut from this trailer. One of the best lines in all film.
What on earth is this yt channel
Absolutely beautiful film. I don’t really like romantic comedies. I **love** this film.
People under 30 don’t understand it? Or is it just they haven’t watched it? As Good As It Gets was a great movie but it didn’t have very good staying power. That’s not the fault of people under 30.
I know I should know better than to underestimate James L. Brooks but I avoided this one for the longest time thinking it would be some saccharine treacle soft romcom shit. I was so stupidly wrong. It’s a complex look at people with all kinds of their own specific challenges learning to navigate them often through the unexpected lens of the last people they’d expect to
Always remember how great Jack has been, but I forgot how much I liked Helen Hunt!
Greg Kinnear was fantastic in this movie.
This movie made me like Jack Nicholson. His character is a complete asshole and he knows it, but can’t really help it and it frustrates him.
It’s hard not to fall for Helen Hunt in this movie.
