Starring Pinkzilla, King Thanos, Kongzuki and Red Monke.
Godzilla, by the way, went from looking and moving like he was an absolute unit to being something that moves faster than i do. They all got the Pacific Rim 2 treatment.
Also, more drums please, and sad piano, this didnt feel generic enough.
They are going to need to do some work to convince me this new Kong-like villain will be a threat after the absolute demolishing Godzilla gave the simian world. Kong might be there just to make it more even for the villain with how bad of an asskicking Godzilla gave last movie.
Also Minus-One is an amazing Godzilla film if you haven’t seen it.
This looks so shitty. Such a contrast to the first one, or even the second one. I’m not even talking about the goofiness of the plot, I’m always down for a goofy movie, but I still want it to *look* good and for the monsters to give off a sense of awe. Without competent cinematography, special effects, and directing, you can have the most “fun” stupid goofy plot and its still going to be boring, like watching kids play with action figures.
Biggest problem here is maybe the complete lack of a sense of scale. Almost everything is a CGI background, so the giant apes look like normal apes in a cave. Godzilla might as well be a normal sized lizard for how quickly he moves – again, contrast with the first one, and how massive every single step he takes feels.
Similar problem with Pacific Rim 2, compared to the first one. The first one did a great job of really conveying how massive the mecha robots and the kaijus were, while the second one got all weightless and quick, to its detriment.
Also, maybe I’m just getting old and out of touch, but I’m not sure how I feel about that final shot of Godzilla sucking off King Kong. A romance in a Godzilla movie feels out of place.
This is going to be a really fucking stupid complaint. Like, I’m totally aware of dumb it sounds.
But I kind of miss how relatively grounded the first two movies in this franchise were.
Godzilla had its issues, but I really enjoyed it. There was some jargon around his origins and the MUTOs, but nothing particularly jarring.
I think Kong Skull Island is a blast, a legitimately decent film. There were some comments about shit living underground, not much else.
King of the Monsters and GvK were fine, I suppose. I didn’t hate them, but I didn’t enjoy them remotely as much as their predecessors. They went full on crazy. Maybe I was always going to have that issue, there surely can’t be that many ways to adequately explain all the titans beyond the hollow earth bullshit they followed through with, but I just don’t believe the final product was the best possible outcome.
Also the human characters got worse, less interesting. The fights got bigger and brighter, but still less interesting.
This looks like more of the same. I’m sure that’s the point. It just feels so far removed from the ones I actually liked.
King Kong gets a power glove, and we now have HyperMegaUltraGodzilla I guess. And that Baby Kong looked really bad. I dunno about this one. Can we have more stuff like Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One please?
When the trailer first started I was thinking for a second that they were bringing Transformers into this.
After watching the absolute masterclass that Minus One was, it’s gonna be hard to take these new films seriously. Still looks fun and will always watch any movie involving Kaiju, but man, Minus One almost ruins watching any other monster verse movie at this point.
People seem to have forgotten that the Japanese Godzilla movies features a lot of crazy shit. If anything Monsterverse still hasn’t reached that level since it doesn’t have aliens.
Fatigue, fatigue, fatigue…can’t studios spend millions on other IP? We get it, Kong and Godzilla rule the Earth and underEarth (or whatever that place is).
As someone who really liked the more grounded nature and scale of 2014 and Skull Island but still enjoyed the goofiness of KotM and Kong John McClane-ing his way off an aircraft carrier in GvK, this looks really dumb. I’ll see it, but damn I had much higher hopes for the franchise after the first two.
Huh, I guess it’s turning into some sort of Planet of the Apes but with giant monkes. I don’t really see how the new brown monke is a threat compared to the last monster they fought, unless there’s another enemy they didn’t show in the trailer.
Holy shit what a crappy trailer, or maybe it’s the film itself. There’s so little sense of scale here… that last shot of the two of them running looked like they were human sized.
Why the new effect is pink instead of blue? I missed some lore?
This looks so god awful terrible.

Yikes.
Pretty crazy when you can see the exact moment that a giant monster movie jumps the shark.
Oof… just… oof. Also King Kong is now an amputee with a prosthetic hand?
Man…after Godzilla Minus One, I knowwww this is gonna be a let down, Japan just does Goji better
What the fuck is going on with these movies. All we want is giant monsters fighting.
I’m not watching this even illegally.
This looks so dumb. I love it.
LOL wtf is going on with this franchise

Why does Kong have the infinity gauntlet ?
This looks absolutely terrible.
Where does the light come from?
I think it looks really fun! I’ll take all the Godzilla you can give me….

This 100% looks like a “turn your brain off, and eat some popcorn” kinda movie

This is giving me strong Godzilla/King Kong meets Transformers and MCU. Can’t help but think this is going to be mid as fuck
Okay, I was like “cool, they’re working together” until I saw Godzilla in a sprint… No thanks.
Wow! This looks really fucking stupid!
this sucks. watch godzilla minus one instead
Turn off your brain popcorn flick.

Looks like Godzilla is a Slaughterspine from Horizon Forbidden West…
What the hell happened to cinema????
i just hope this is like 4 hours long.
People seem to have forgotten that the Japanese Godzilla movies features a lot of crazy shit. If anything Monsterverse still hasn’t reached that level since it doesn’t have aliens.
Adam Wingard + Simon Barrett + Dan Stevens = I’m seeing this opening weekend.
Seriously, this has a great team behind it.
Holy shit, this is giving me crazy nostalgia. The same exact feeling I had when I first watched the Batman and Robin trailer way back when.
The win goes to Godzilla Minus One
Am I the only one that wants Godzilla 1998 part 2?
This looks so bad….
if they dont at least kiss in the movie, im gonna be so disappointed

After the last Godzilla movie…
This one looks like a joke hehe…
Even the CGI looks cheap…
Oh well…

I’m not digging it. Felt like rise of the apes but bigger.
Yall must hate the showa movies huh
What the fuck did I just watch?
This looks awful.
