Can’t believe how ridiculous this franchise has gotten since it’s pretty grounded take in 2014.
That said, it was kinda cool seeing Godzilla run at full speed at the end of the trailer.

Pinkzilla X Cykong: The New Empire
After Godzilla Minus One I really hope the human characters will at least be somewhat interesting, as compared to some of the previous films.
The Monsterverse is totally running on that Showa/Hesei Vs energy and I am 100% here for it.
That last shot of them running together was amazingly ridiculous!

This looks like the movie I’ve always wanted to see with this kind of budget. If even half of the stuff reported from the test screenings is accurate, we’re in for an incredibly silly and exciting flick.
That shot of them charging at the end is so fucking cool it’s ridiculous.

Kong getting a new equipment every movie is the world building I want to see, I want him to have a full Iron Man armor set by the next movie.

Saw Godzilla Minus One last week. Best Godzilla movie imho. Monarch TV show is also good. Glad this Hollywood movie won’t hamper the brand and it’s in good hands with the original IP owners.
Godzilla in Minus One: A grounded, serious take on Godzilla that shows the horrors of what a creature like this could do while also conveying the pain & rage it feels.

Quite the opposite tone of Minus One but I love the “VS” Godzilla movies too. Should be fun!
I don’t know if I like the red over the blue but I’m glad goji is getting buffs.
So, we’re taking some pages from Planet of the Apes with APES! TOGETHER! STRONG! ?
Now go watch the 2014 Godzilla trailer, and think about how The New Empire is a sequel.

I wish they stuck to the darker, more grounded vibe of the 2014 version.
The year is 2027.
Zilla and Kong, despite previous success in their team ups, face their gravest challenge yet. They realize they can’t do it alone.
They need…..family.
They need Dom Torretto.
Fast and Furious 11: KongZilla. Family knows no species.
Plot Summary: King Kong gets the Infinity Gauntlet to team up with Pinkzilla and save Diddy Kong from The Planet of the Apes.
Looks fine.
My biggest issue with the direction of this series is how they’ve lost all sense of scale and weight.
I’ll be honest, these movies just tickle a part of my brain and I love them
This is Showa as fuck, but with a huge budget. Loving it.
Best thing this franchise did was make Kong the protagonist. The humans are the worst part of these movies so just focusing on the big monsters and using the most human one as the lead, allowing for characterization without moving away from the monsters, with Godzilla in a Hulk-like scene-stealing supporting role is just *chef’s kiss*…
I really want this to be good but at this point I feel like they missed an opportunity to maybe add some of this in earlier in between KoM and GvK that might have helped expedite the plot.
It just seems janky that they jumped right to kaiju mechs, lightspeed travel, centre of the earth tech and kaiju body mods after saying some of these things came from off earth likely due to aliens.
Having said all this it seems the general audience is willing to forgive this so long as it stays faithful to being a big budget blockbuster with high stakes and upscale country devestating battles, so we can only hope this ups the ante.
Also as a side note between this, the new Planet of the Apes, and all the other Godzilla content I think we can all safely say we can now return to Monke. Apes together strong.
This is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen. I’m going to make sure to try and see it opening night on IMAX.
It’s like Transformers meets the Avengers. Sure, why not?!
