Everyone focused on blowing the cartridges, but there was a better trick. If the game wasn’t loading but was flashing colors, you could selectively hit the reset button on different colors, and the game would load. Normally, once you had a pink screen flash, if you hit reset on that one, you were good. Sometimes, you’d even get sound cues from the game music.
