Wow, I really had no idea this happened. I’m sure playing for one of their idols was huge the Stones. And Muddy’s voice sounds so good. Thank you for sharing.
Super cool. Read in Keith’s bio that when they landed at chess records, Muddy was there and helped them carry their bags in. They couldn’t believe it, he was working as a handyman at Chess. The Brits saved the Blues. Must have been mind blowing for both parties to meet. The Brits, meeting their musical gods and for Blues Legends like Muddy, who had never received accolades outside of the black community, being recognized for the first time on the world stage, like someone actually gave an actual fuck. Probably butchered this story.

I love the part where Keith flips open a butterfly knife and opens a bottle of whiskey. It’s when they’re sitting at a table before they go onstage.
Even though the stones were great, especially when they were younger, they pale into insignificance when Muddy Waters starts to sing. Great clip tho’. Thanks for posting.

My dad is a big fan, took me to a Muddy Waters concert at the Waikiki Shell. My dad got to shake his hand when he was being driven on a golf cart back to his transportation.
Cool to see Mick Jagger in total awe. I never heard Muddy Waters or some other legends until I was like 55. I’m 59 now. I missed too much.
Here’s what Muddy said -“These white boys want to play the blues so bad, and they play the blues so bad”- maybe he wasn’t talking about Mick and the boys….
