Bill Curtiss enlisted with the US Army on September 7, 1943. After his discharge, Bill enrolled at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1950. On September 17, 1954 he married Betty Bretl and they settled in Rancho Bernardo California where they raise three daughters. Bill worked for GD Astronautics until he retired in 1992.
Bill passed away on February 28, 2013 at the age of 87.
Private First Class Donald R. Stratton married Leona Huguenin on December 31, 1943.
On January 25, 1944 Don Stratton was inducted into the US Army. Following his honorable discharge on April 24, 1946, he returned to Colville where he worked for the Lime Plant in Evans and later with the Stevens County Road Department. Following an injury at work, Don returned to school and became a licensed Barber at Moler’s Barber School. He then moved to Pullman where he started a family and worked for six years at the WSU Barber Shop. In 1962, the family moved to Colville and he opened Don’s Barber Shop.
Private First Class Don Stratton passed away on October 23, 2011 at the age of 85. He lies in rest at Calvary Cemetery in Colville Washington.
