You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as Herbie Hancock playing his Fairlight CMI on Sesame Street in 1983.

Herbie Hancock was my first exposure to modern jazz, and I’ve loved it ever since.

*You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as Herbie Hancock ~~playing his Fairlight CMI on Sesame Street in 1983~~.* Fixed it, though as you wrote it, it does in fact already elevate the already very cool Heribie Hancock.
Alternately:
• You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as a Fairlight CMI.
• You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as anybody playing a Fairlight CMI.
• You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as anybody on Sesame Street in 1983.
• You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as Sesame Street.
And perhaps even
• You may think you’re cool, but you’ll never be as cool as 1983.
I want that watch.
Why’s the guy behind him doing? Playing Oregon trail or something?
Looks like Bob Lazar running the com there. Damn, no wonder he thought he worked with UFO technology ha
Rockit-era Herbie. Total Legend.
Is that bob lazar in the background?
Had the pleasure of seeing HH perform a little over a year ago. In addition to him sounding great, it was clear how much he still loves performing. The venue eventually pulled the plug on him because it was an outdoor show and there are strict limits on how late a venue can play. From my seat I could see the sound guy waving at him from off stage and giving him the finger across the throat sign and Herbie just laughing. They cut him off mid song but eventually gave the mic back so he could say goodnight. It was an amazing evening.
That’s why I love Herbie Hancock. He loves to lie.
Finally a post that doesn’t suck.
“John Hancock, it’s Herbie Hancock”
I will never be that cool.
When I used to need signatures from people on a regular basis I’d always say let me get your Herbie Hancock instead of John Hancock. It was a Chris Farley joke and ode to this fine gent.
I wouldn’t have known that was the Sesame Street Theme if you had given me the ‘s’, the ‘e’, the ‘a’, the ‘m’, and the ‘t’.
IIRC in same segment he lets kids play it and it’s pretty adorable.
What’s being displayed on the monitor?
You herbie Hancock-blocked me!
So cool for a constitution signer.
Um, pretty sure this is John Hancock. I went to college for 7 years after all.
I thought this was gonna be a photograph of him signing the declaration of independence.
